2014 GMAT Prep and Strategies

Practice Question

Hi Do we have a Mumbai group preparing for the GMAT 2014 August or September?

Dear All,

I wish to do MBA in near future for which I am preparing for GMAT. But ,I have certain questions which if answered can be very helful for me in deciding further course of action.

1. I have 22 months of work experience in IT feild. For admission in top universities across globe is it essential to have 60 months of work experience ?

2. I have already strated with my GMAT preparation on my own. However, I wish to join classes as it provide GMAT coaching+TOEFL+Post exam consulting at Rs.30000. So, in short its a ONE STOP SHOP. Is it a right decision or can there be an alternative ?

3. Many forums mentions that a good profile(i.e Recommendations from top management, National level sports, NGO etc) is preferred in top universities. I have none of the mentioned. Also, my score for Engineering is 75%(Mumbai University). How much do I need to improve on my profile ?

4. I wish to give exam in December 2014. Can I apply to all B-Schools in India and Foreign Countries ? What is the right time to apprear for GMAT.

Please answer.

Hello
I am 33yrs old man , who wants to take up MBA for extending my knowledge about corporate level business and to find contacts and associations to start up the kind of companies I want.
I am financially well off, never did any job in my life for salary. But did some local businesses and know trades at town level .
I do not have a mathematics background , my degree is in science and biology where I have been a meritorious student.
I want to give GMAT exam in 6 months or so , and I am absolutes clueless about the maths part.
I live in Hyderabad , I thought of joining princeton / manhattan / times...some institute but after going through some videos about coaching and materials , I felt , may be I should WARM UP a bit before I can actually take up the class.
Looking for some personal guidance or a study group or a regular email correspondence who can understand that I am at level ZERO and striving to rise up .
Looking forward for suggestions.

I have recently started my preperation for GMAT, but i am focusing only ISB, as i cannot afford the costlier MBA options abroad, but my friends suggest i should rather prepare for CAT, which is a better option for MBA from India, considering the budget.

Is it possible to prepare for both CAT and GMAT simultaeously..focussing on both, how different is the preparation for both?

Or shall i focus on just one exam
