Hello everyone,
I need advise on what books to refer for GMAT Quants section.
Initially I started with TIME CAT prep books. But, I believe that the GMAT question are quite different than those of CAT.
I have also referred the Manhattan books. But they have very easy questions. I am not entirely confident if solving these would be of significant help (havent read the word problem book yet)
Should I buy the Kaplan quants wokbook/Kaplan Premiere?
Also, how are the Veritas prep books?

Help Required for GMAT profile.
I am Sunil working out of IT for last 3.6 years in various technologies like Java, Pega and Exigen. Want to appear GMAT. As I came to know that GMAT are just 20-30% of getting selected in good colleges. And considering extra curricular activities I have passion towards photography, telling stories and helping all persons .
I have always been a leader for managing functions and allocating jobs for persons who are a part of organizing committee along with me. I have been always a part of ad-min team in solving the issues of associates in an organization and fighting for the rights of all. Majorly Food and facilities its not alone like addressing the issues but also in solving it.
I have worked as part of 4 clients from various parts of US in Health Care, Insurance and BFS domains. And almost have basic knowledge about Insurance in US.
So can any of you please suggest me whats score needs to be applicable for perfect colleges through GMAT. Seeing my profile. As Leading , managing, distributing and rebellion has been my major aspects.
Please let me know anxiously waiting for a reply according to that I need to set my targets.
If Any of GMAT preparation guys are done with there preparation. Could you please help me with the materials. Please let me know in case somebody wants to help
Hi puys, i took my 1st GMATprep today & got following score:
Qaunt- 49
Verbal-27 (Incorrect: SC-6, CR-2, RC-7)
Score - 630
I started preparing for GMAT just 25 days ago & completed Manhattan SC guide & Verbal section of Official Guide 13 edition.
How should i move forward in verbal section?? i am aiming 720+ in GMAT & my target B-School is ISB only.
Guys which is better IVY GMAt or BYJU GMAT or else self preparation for GMAt from the below link

From my encounter with GMAT and GMAT preparation, I'd like to share few pointers for benefit of forum.
1. Its not necessary that you must get all the answers right to get a 99%tile score. (See picture)
2. It will not help to give more time to first 10 question to get a better score. you might end up without completing the section and the penalty is very high for that
3. If you think, you can crack the GMAT by mugging up things or solving lots of problem or studying for 6 months... Hell NO!... you cannot!
4. The key to success is understanding the question pattern,the thinking of examiner behind the question. You will not get the exact question in GMAT, but if you are able to identify the patterns of the question than you can certainly crack the code. (I am trying to work on this issue right now).
5. GMAT is a way of thinking... a way of thinking that you will apply in the business world. So try thinking logically and not just academically.
6. More than academics, GMAT is a stress test as it tries your patience and stamina for almost 4 hours. Hence try to give as many full mocks as possible ( under exam conditions and without using the PAUSE buttons). Try to understand what went wrong in each question post the test.
7. Try to give mock once a week, make a chart of your scores and track your progress. Based of this, target area which you think was your weakest that week and keep moving, you will surely see positive results soon, and it will also boost your confidence for the main encounter.
PS: Don't try to figure out the exact logic of GMAT Algo, but try to avoid the myths.

I have gone through the information as available on net...and came to know that GMAT is not that tough and unpredictable as CAT(for IIMs). GMAT only requires a proper study plan and structured approach....

My profile is as follows:Xth - 70%; XIIth- 72%, B.Sc (Physics Hons.) - 65%; B.Tech (Electrical Engg.)- 74%I haven't received any recognition/awards in extra-curricular activities nor i am associated with any NGO or member of nay professional institute.I am employed with a consultancy organisation under Govt. of India (PSU) having work experience of 4+ years.Can u please tell me what are my chances of getting admission in any good institute in India or China ??
