[2015-2017] IIFT Admission Notification and related discussion (Official)

Hi...has anyone got IIFT GK compendium and question bank 2014?? If yes, please mail it to rrakesh2222@gmail.com  ..

TIA

Hey, I'm a final year student so I have the results of only my first 4 semesters. In the OMR sheet do I just fill the aggregate of the first 4 semesters,or write "Appearing"; because in the IIFT form they ask us to fill "Appearing" if our graduation is not complete. Plz help!

Any smart way to know and study all important GK questions

wt would be d xpcted cutoff this tym?

Hi everyone, I was wondering if the cutoffs for Delhi and Kolkata will be different? I m getting around 38 according to the answer key published by CL. Also am a bit worried about LR sectional cutoffs - getting around 5.8, which does not cut it according to CL. Any info would be appreciated!

wht are the expected cut offs of iift for general, sc , st and obc category ??

while filling up the form for IIFT i dont remember whether I entered aggregate marks or according to ICSE(xth) and ISC(xiith) rule . So in the exam i have entered as per ICSE and ISC . I dont know it might differ because of that. Will that affect anyway ??

Hello all!

How're you all doing? Eagerly waiting for the results? Well, let me put you at ease here. The shortlist for second round is scheduled to be up on 18th December. Any other queries, as usual, can be routed to me.

Meanwhile, you can follow IIFT on Facebook and Twitter for more updates.

Keep your fingers crossed. All the best!

Hi All,

Hope you all are doing good and your preparation is on track. I know you are anxiously waiting for the written test result. Historically IIFT declares result on or before 20 Dec. GD,PI and Written test happen in last week of Jan to first week of Feb. It means you will effectively get only 40 to 45 days to prepare. In all probabilities IIFT will be your first  process of the year.

Now coming to the main points which I want to highlight. After getting call from IIFT most of you will have these questions in your mind:

(1) I have very limited knowledge about economics. What to do?

(2) My general awareness is not good. What to do?

(3) What to study for trade?

(4) Written test has very difficult and policy related topics how to prepare?

And all other doubts. At the end you will find it very difficult to prepare.

So here is what I did 2 years back. Hope this will help you all.

(1) Start reading editorial of Financial Express (if possible read Financial express newspaper. It is very much focused on policies which an aspiring IIFTian should know).

(2) Google all the new economics and business terms  which you encounter while reading and get proper hold of them.

(3) start reading about all the recent topics like "Oil price, Coal Block auction, Telecom spectrum auction, Payment banks and small banks, EU crisis, Japan Slow down, RBI monitory policy, world commodity prices, New policy initiative of government of India" and all other topics.

Remember this exercise is going to help you in all the process which you will attend. I am posting you a few very important links. Try reading them.

Right now I am just suggesting you to read one paper as I know you all are busy with other Management entrance test preparation.  I will keep on posting new resources and information in time to come. Mean while if you need any other info please feel free to post here or pm me.  ATB!!!

Hello all!

Okay, so I'll get right to it. I get your anger. I get your expectancy. But did one really need to panic this bad? "IIFT results are scheduled to be up on 18th". That's the information I got, that's the information I relayed to you. But all of you must understand that the distance between "scheduled to be up" and "is going to be up" is huge. Reason: Quality Check. Assurance. Responsibility.

For those asking how difficult it can be for IIFT setting up a mere portal saying rejected/not rejected, please try and understand that it might not be hard for you, but IIFT has a responsibility of selecting the brightest, and even a single lapse on IIFT's part may cost a bright deserving student his career. IIFT tries hard to live upto its brand name, but kindly understand its resource constraints. Those following Facebook and Twitter would be knowing that it just concluded its exams for the junior batch, and is scheduling its senior exams, while also organising a International Conference on Empirical Issues in Trade and Finance with extremely big industry stalwarts. As mature individuals, you must also understand that IIFT is the only institute of its stature, to conduct its own entrance examination, and manage it single-handedly.

With all this in mind, please try and bear with us. The admission procedure is tedious, yes, but so it is everywhere, and maybe this is also a stepping stone for your shining managerial careers. Management is all about patience, and saying and doing right things at the right times, and that does involve waiting at times.

Best of Luck! Doubts, as usual, to me.

Snarky comments, also, well, to me (occupational hazard).

Shanton.

P.S. The new date, again TENTATIVE, as far as my knowledge goes is 20th December, 2014. Again, it is the scheduled date. I urge you not to panic. Thank you.

Is IIFT result out?

Result is out

Second round list of iift

What is the procedure moving forward?

As in do we have to wait for some info or some kind of portal or wat?

Hey guys..congrats to all who made to the GDPI stage...Please continue your GDPI discussion on this page :

Hey guys!

So, the results are finally out. Many congratulations to those who did make it through the written test. For others, don't worry, this was one of the earlier ones of the season,  you have scores of results to look forward to, so do not fret. Also, if IIFT was your goal, you always have next year, give it your best shot and try again. The key is to never back down, okay?

Next on the list, were a few common queries that I got. I'll answer them all here. First and foremost, this is the only list that IIFT will come up with. There are no further shortlists that will be announced. Secondly, as of now, you have not been segregated into Delhi or Kolkata batches. This is a common list for both campuses. Further, there is no second mail that you'll get as a confirmatory response as to your selection through the Entrance Examination. If your name is in the document on the site (please check your application number to avoid redundancy), you are through.

You will, however, in a short while, receive official communication as to your GD/PI dates as well as campus preferences. Shortly before that, your official scorecards will also be out, so you'll be able to make judicial decisions as to how much you scored, and how much you wish to score in the further rounds.

I think that's it. Raise a glass (of wine, if you are overage, otherwise orange juice. 😁 ) and enjoy. Also, follow the official page

http://bit.ly/13Ig93L for GD/PI discussions.

You may also add yourself to the Facebook group

https://www.facebook.com/groups/866414543433129 for the same.

A word of caution: Entry post scrutiny by me and @Squib. If you guys have a different facebook name than the one in the list, kindly inbox any of us.

All the best. Once again, you know what to do, in case of any doubts. You can also follow me on Facebook. Just look for Shanton Dutta. I'm the only one. 😛

Phew, this was long.

Best,

Shanton

hi, what is the GMAT cut off for applying to IIFT ? and what profile is required. Please let me know .

I remember filling IIFT Delhi as first preference both while filling form and on exam day. Does that mean I won't be on the Kolkata list ?
