how are the placements at nitie for freshers as compared to experienced guys ?What is the average package of 2016 pass out freshers ? Someone please throw some light on this, really confused
i have 36 month exp in working at trading system as Software Developer. And I want to peruse marketing from NITIE ....as i do not have any other good college ...how good is the idea ...what are the avg lateral placement stats for marketing in nitie ??

Just an observation from my side about the posts made in this group: A lot of you probably have multiple converts (or) are expecting to convert multiple B-schools. It would be wiser to contact seniors from those respective B-schools and get relevant information wrt your profile and aspirations rather than asking people on this page.
People who are on this page have obviously applied to this B-school and are bound to give you biased answers. In the past, there have been several instances on PagalGuy about aspirants giving biased answers to help the waitlist move and thereby convert themselves.
Hence, I urge you to ask specific questions pertaining to your profile to seniors of respective B-schools and make an informed decision rather than asking here on the group.
It is okay to get information from your peers but for making the final decision it might be a better idea to talk with someone who is already a current student or a student who has recently completed his/her course.
It will help you.

NITIE vs New IIMs

*Companies* : NITIE gets big FMCGs famous for Marketing or
Operations like HUL, P&G, Nestle, Mondelez, Pepsico etc; major consulting
firms or role like Deloitte S&O, AMC etc; major roles in E-Commerce firms
like Snapdeal, Amazon etc. Roles in major international banks like Barclays,
Citibank, Standard Charted etc. IT companies like SAP etc visit NITIE. That is
not the case with any of the new IIMs.
So be it Marketing, Finance, IT or Operations, you will mostly end up in Level 2 or Level 3 companies through new IIMs.
Even the major companies which visit New IIMs don't generally offer the same profile as the ones they offer in institutes like NITIE. For Example Deloitte which visited IIM-S last year but did not open the S&O profile. Amazon visits IIM-Ro but does not offer the same profile or the level it offers in NITIE. So before you go base your decision on the company name mentioned in the placement report do give it a thought.
*The Exposure* : Corporate case-study competitions are an important aspect of B-School life and winning one major case-study can give you a direct PPO/PPI. Here is a list of few of the most respected Case-study competitions in India , just look at the list of college which is allowed to participate (and try to find any of the 'New' IIMs) in them:
Amazon Ace (Operations and Marketing)
GEP GamePlan (Consulting)
HUL LIME (Marketing)
ITC Interrobang (Marketing, Operations and HR)
Deloitte MAVERICK (Consulting), JnJ Quest, LOREAL Brandstorm (Marketing), Snapdeal Best Marketeer (Marketing), KPMG KICC (Consulting), Godrej Loud, RPG Blizzard, PnG CEO Challenge, etc. The list is long, do your own research.
*The Location and Campus advantage* : NITIE has a campus in
the heart of Mumbai. We have some big firms in Mumbai and hence have many
dignitaries visiting us for guest lecture and interactions on a regular basis.
Another advantage we reap from being located in the financial capital of the
country is that student get numerous opportunities for weekends projects, which
are especially important in case you are fresher and seeking an upper edge over

*ROI* : Don't think MBA aspirants need a lesson on how return on investment works. 8lacs (NITIE) vs 16lacs (IIMs), do your math.
Myth 1: IIM Tag : Switching Jobs - First of all there are few dream roles like GE-ITLP and other leadership roles which you can only get into only through campus placements, you cannot go into those roles later, ever. Again suppose in an IT company, you end up in Business Analyst role, it will take 5-6 years to be eligible for a Senior Consultant role, let alone competing for similar jobs as people from these B-Schools.
Myth 2: IIM Tag : The Respect : New IIMs are not treated at par with the older IIMs, neither by the current students nor the alumns. In industry NITIE or IIFT are still a bigger brand than new IIMs due to their 50 years of legacy and alum base.
Choosing or leaving a B-School is a make or break decision for your career, take a well informed decision.
