Dear Aspirants, I can tell you that at this point of time many may try to misguide you and ask you to join some other institute as they may be waitlisted at IIM Trichy. Please take some time to read this post, do some research from your end and take an informed decision. I won’t be comparing any institutes but I can talk about IIM T to give you an overall idea about our institute.
Campus, Facilities and Campus Life: We are in the permanent campus since August 2017. The campus is spread on a sprawling 175 acres of land and is only 13 kilometers away from the Trichy International Airport. Technologically equipped smart classrooms, elegantly furnished single occupancy air-conditioned hotel rooms, a world-class library, 24x7 Wi-Fi, are some of the noteworthy features of our new campus. Location: Trichy,is a major tier II city and is the fourth largest municipal corporation and the fourth largest urban agglomeration in the state in which we are in. For third year in a row (2017 reports), Trichy remains on the list of the top 10 clean cities in the country. https://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/city/trichy/swachh-survekshan-2017-trichy-remains-on-top-10-clean-cities-list/articleshow/58512942.cms . The institute is around 20 minutes by road from the airport and around 45 minutes from the railway station. Direct flights to most of the metro cities are available and international connectibity is also very good - It has daily non-stop flights to Dubai, Sharjah, Colombo, Kuala Lumpur and Singapore as well. Ola and other private cab aggregators operate in Trichy. Apart from that, autorickshaws are always available and you can book a cab/auto right in front of your hostel with just a call.
Faculty: We have the best of faculties among the IIMs and all the other leading B-Schools in the country. For faculty profiles please visit this link: http://www.iimtrichy.ac.in/faculty-dept . The faculties are alumni of the leading B-Schools in the country and abroad. We have guest faculties from the industry as well and there's something called "Distinguished Guest Lecture Series" which provides a window to the students of IIM Trichy to gain a holistic view towards the society, corporate and the environment on a global scale.
Placements: If you have done some research or have seen the video you'll find that placement scenario at IIM T has been great and there has been a constant and high growth ever since we were established. It's not just about the companies but also the kind of roles that are offered are much better than those provided in the comparable institutes. Though I don't want to mention the name of the company/companies, I believe we're the first and only institute among the second generation IIMs where investment banking roles have been offered to our students.
Ranking: We have been constantly placed on the higher side in any B-School ranking lists by reputed and leading dailies, sites and education portals. As per the NIRF rankings by MHRD, Govt of India, our institute is ranked 15th among all the management institutes in the country. Also, IIM T received the “Top Institute of India” award by Competition Success Review this year and our beloved director Dr. Bhimaraya Metri has received the “Top Director” award at the same event.
Sports Facilities: A state-of-the-art sports complex with all kinds of indoor games and a swimming pool is a part of the campus. It will have all kinds of sports facilities. As of now, it was under construction till we left for our internships in March end. However, the swimming pool was completed by then and the remaining facilities were at 60-70% completion. It's expected to be ready by June end before the new batch starts. Also, at this moment we do have facilities for football, cricket, billiards, carrom, table tennis. The Sports Committee at IIM Trichy hosts regular events like "Aarambh" which is an intra-institute sporting event, IIM Trichy Football and Cricket Leagues - ITFL and ITCL. Also, if you're in IIM Trichy and have interest in sports you'll get a chance to be a part of the team representing your institute in "Sangram" which is a Sports Meet of the IIMs in the South - IIM Bangalore, IIM Kozhikode, IIM Trichy and IIM Vishakhapatnam. SportsComm is one of the most active committees in our college and the new batch will have surprises awaiting.
Clubs and Committees: The institute has student committees that ensure all the needs of the students are taken care of. They aim at ensuring the well-being of the students during their stay at the institute. We have both academic and non-academic clubs which ensure that the learning experience here is coupled with the adequate amount of extra-curricular activities and to have an all-around exposure to all that holds significance for the students.
Student Exchange and International Relations: Our partner institutes are all top class institutes having the best of rankings in the respective countries. Festivals and Events: The Cultural Committee at IIM Trichy makes sure that each and every student feels closer to home and also ensures blending of cultural instincts with enthusiasm of our students to bring out events of scintillating color and radiance on the horizon of IIM Trichy. Festivals and events like Holi, Ganesha Chathurti, Diwali, Onam, Dussehra, Dandiya Night and Sanskriti which is the war of sections are celebrated every year. B-School Fest and Management Conclave: Dhruva, IIM Trichy's flagship Business-Cultural Fest, is an amalgamation of innovative management contests and a myriad of cultural events. DJs Siana Catherine and BassHunk pulled off a stellar show this year as a part of the Sunburn event. Our flagship Management Conclave Nishtha is a two-day spearheading initiative which facilitates interaction between experts, academicians, business leaders, entrepreneurs and current management students. We strive to bring together as many young and enthusiastic students from all across India to this one platform where they will debate, discuss and learn about business and society from industry stalwarts.
Corporate and B-School Competitions: Our institute is one of the very few institutes which is allowed to take part or host top corporate institutes like Mahindra War Room, Godrej Loud, etc and we have students and alumni who have won several corporate and B-School competitions and have brought laurels to the institute.
Linkages: The institute has associations with CII, AIMA, MMA and PMI and is in the process of applying for the prestigious accreditations like AACSB and AMBA
USP: IIM Trichy is known for being the best for finance among the newer IIMs and there are many reasons for it. Some updates from AO:
1. Date of registration for PGP 2018-20 batch is 23rd June, 2018.
2. If you are waitlisted and pay 10k, irrespective of whether you convert and choose to withdraw before 23rd or do not convert, full amount of 10k will be refunded.
3. Buffer calls have been given, but no details as to how many such calls were given are available/cannot be divulged.
4. No mail needs to be sent after making the payment, but print and keep the payment receipt copy with you, it will be required later.
5. Please read the mails you receive carefully (converted and waitlisted students). All these details will be mentioned clearly.

Shillong hasnt given me a waitlist number yet. Udaipur SC174 waiting. Trichy says pay to know waitlist number. Ranchi shows "not selected" as of yet. What should I do?

So ranchi is sending mails to wl candidates to update on the website if they are interested in iimr pgpm or not. Based on the response they will give wl numbers. A good way to move the wl fast since only interested candidates will get wl no.
