@avinashkrjha Thank you avinash
@avinashkrjha thanx a lot...By the way which are good institutes that accept CMAT score?
@greedyanimal : Some good institutes accepting CMAT scores are:

1. GIM
2.JBIMS
3.KJ SOMAIYA
4.WELINGKAR
5.IMT, Nagpur & Hyderabad

i had completed my CAT exam but not done well. so now i am going for XAT.
will IIM's consider the XAT or not ??

thanks for reply.

one more doubt.
i want join only in any IIT's or IIM's.
but graduation percentage is 64.45.
is it better or not ??

@kpraveen010 IIMs will shortlist basis CAT score. Cheers !!! :)
@kpraveen010 Focus on CAT for the moment. If you can secure 98 plus, rest assured you would be receiving calls from both, a few IIMs and IITs. Academic credentials are one of the component of shortlisting and final selection. If you are able to ace GD/PI you would be through. All the best :)

avinashkrjha

what are the cutoffs and last dates for filling the form for-
1. GIM
2.JBIMS
3.KJ SOMAIYA

Last year Cut Off for GIM

XAT - 76.48%ile
CMAT - 198 marks

Last year CAT Cut Off for KJ --> 90%ile & 80%ile for IB

For MMS, there is no specific cut off. There is a common GD/PI through DTE.

Last date for GIM --> 31st Dec 2012. But if you register on or before 30th Nov, you get a discount of 400 bucks.

Notification for KJ-Som is yet to come.

Get back in case of further query.. !!

@supratimd916 thanx
@sunwinderpal @avinashkrjha I wish to know which colleges are good apart from SIBM-Pune, SCMHRD & SIIB which accept SNAP score.. How are SIOM & SIBM-Bengaluru when considered in terms of faculty, placements etc? I have seen their respective sites but cannot make up my mind about them..

Hi puys, I had some query. Let me tell u my academics are average ranging from 60 to 70 in x,xii and graduation. I am getting 95+ percentile in practice tests. I also have 18 months of work experience. Someone told me I am not eligible for IIMs due to my academics and even chances for top 8 school like IITs,MDI,IMT etc are also low even at this percentile even if my gdpi is good. I am worried about this. Is he correct

Dude.. though am not a pro but i feel that there are a few IIMs which give a lot of credit to acads.. but there are also that dont.. 95+ is a good score and if u can translate that to a bout 98-99, there is no stopping in u geetinbg calls from few IIM's, IIT's and MDI.. Acads is one of the criteria that these colleges have in order to shortlist the candidates.. and so is Work-ex, but Good GD and an impressive PI can make things possible.. Even if chances are low, there are still chances.. go ahead and just maximize ur score at this time.. ATB.

Akmbaspirant thanks alot for prompt reply was just wondering if in case I get calls what are chances of convert with average gdpi
@Akmbaspirant From my point of view SCMHRD, SIBM, Pune and SIIB are the three best offferings in SNAP. Though SIBM, Bangalore can also be considered, as it is comes under auspices of Symbiosis and provides good educational infrastructure. For the remaining offerings from SNAP, they are much specialized in nature viz. SIOM focuses on Operation SCIT focuses on Information Technology and so on. So, if you you wish to apply in any of these colleges first you need to make up your mind that whether you would be comfortable in pursuing the particular stream. If yes, then do apply else you may not. All the best :)

1. CAT score, Academics , work-ex & Gd-Pi are the categories which are taken into consideration while selecting a candidate.

2.IIm's give high weigthage to academics but it is not the only criterion for measurement. Also board of education is taken into consideration and since you have work-ex it will balance out the negative effect of low grades.

3. Colleges like MDI , IMT give high weightage CAT score so if you fair well in the GD-Pi then you definitely stand a chance of conversion.

ATB!!

Hi All,

I checked the MDI website and realized that the last date for applying has long passed (10 th October). Is there any chance of them opening admissions again after the CAT window closes?

@sunwinderpal Thanks.. I have already applied to SIBM-P, SCMHRD, SIIB.. Was just thinking about going for SIBM -B as an option to fall back upon.. So will apply for the same..
