[2023] Which B-Schools should you apply to?

Sir,

I attempted 17 questions in Section 1, out of 11 are sure correct and 4 are wrong. I donot remember the remaining two.
I attempted 25 questions in section 2, 18-19 are sure correct. What percentile can I expect and which colleges to apply. Please suggest. I am having 2.5 years of work experience in IT. Please suggest. I am completely confused...

1) You can expect a score of 92+.
2) You can apply to XIMB, K.J Somaiya, BIM trichy , MICA.

1)You can expect a score of 88 -90%ile.

2) Colleges you should look at are :

-GLIM (PGPX)-it is a one year program, very good placements for I.T people
-K.J Somaiya (IB)
-NIRMA
-IMI (HR)
-XIMB (HR)
-IFMR
-LIBA
-FORE
etc

# We are no experts here to forecast the %ile of people.

# We are predicting only on the basis of trends in the last few years of Online CAT.

# What best one could do is that apply to a Extra Range of 5%ile of what we are suggesting.

# That means --> Suppose we say that you can expect in the range of 85-90. Then take it as 80-95 and apply accordingly to be on the safe side.

# Right now, apply only to those colleges whose deadlines are before CAT Results.

# Please please do not ask us to compare the colleges or comment on the worth of any college. Feel free to PM Regarding the Same.

1)You have a finance background both in under graduation and in work. So it would be advisable that you look for an MBA related to finance from institutes like LBSIM, K.J somaiya,IFMR etc.
2) you can also look at doing CFA or FRM.

My profile:
X: 86%
XII : 80%
BE: 8.8 on 10( Tier 1 engr clg)

Hi Avinash ,


Wanted to ask a few questions :

Though i know the GIM cut off for last year...I also has a call for gd/pi...had 84 in xat..did decently in the process of gd/pi...

But did not make it through...Last year when i had applied had work ex of around 8 months...working with Accenture..

my acads are mentioned below:
10 - 90.4
12 - 71.6
BE - ENC 73.2

Work ex as of now 17 months...



Now the xat score/cmat score has 50% weightage if i am not wrong...so wanted to get a rough idea of the median xat score of your batch....

since I will be giving xat again this year..and have already applied at GIM again (its one of my fav colleges)..

So please provide some insight as to how much should I aim for....I know it sounds a bit absurd..but it will give me an idea...

I am almost entirely dependent on Xat now..plus it will also be my last shot.... so if you can provide any tips for xat pls do that..


Also I know that ifmr is really good for finance...but somehow the profiles offered are not mentioned on the web site..and what i know from last year seniors the profile offered werent too good...

And last one was merger and acquisition offered at GIM to any of the students..I am interested in M&A...so; just wanted to know that..
