I have taken AIMCATs. Till now just 4 of them. And I am getting percentile around 70 only. Though I have not yet given them seriously.But what you suggest which colleges I should apply for? following colleges are in my mind :

THe above colleges are in my mind. But wat you suggest, which ones I can go for? My priority is to get very good colleges(based on ROI) nearby or in Maharashtra, Hyd, Bangalore. How is ICFAI hyd? And what is the cut off for it? Is ICFAI hyd better than Symbiosis colleges like SIMS, SCIT and all?
And I have heard about GIM a lot. So really aiming for that for sure. But can you tell me the cut offs for the same.
My acads are X - 89%, XII - 86%, Engineering - 81%. Having 26 months of work experience in a core company.
Currently in Aimcats am scoring -
QA/DI - 40 %le (weak in quants)
VA/LR - 90 %le
1) What are my chances of getting good colleges under CAT. Am NC-OBC.
2) What are the colleges under CAT which have invited applications so far for 2013 course.

1. Your grades are consistent and you have more than 2 years of work ex, so you have a good chance of getting a call from the Top b schools. See to it that you get a good percentile in CAT because that's the gate pass.

1. You have covered a gamut of colleges.
2. I would suggest you not to look much into which one is better and which one is worse at this point of time. Try applying to as many colleges as you can (that meets your expectation level of course). After you convert colleges, you can decide which one to join.

1. The deadlines is not same every year. It keeps on changing for few colleges every year.
2. But there are few colleges who have been consistent over the years.
3. College which will have last date even before the CAT Exam starts are : MDI Gudgao
4. Few colleges have last date either during the CAT Window or at the end of CAT Window. Some of them are : SPJAIN, NITIE, Fore, MFC/MBE, etc
5. Few colleges have last date for registration before the CAT Exam or during the CAT Window, but over the last 1 or 2 years, they have been extending the deadlines till few days after CAT Results. e.g IMT
6. Few colleges have last date after CAT Results. Some of them are : IIT's, Tapmi, NIT's, MIB/MHROD, IFMR, LIBA, XIME, etc.

Gearing up for CAT'12. Scoring 70 - 80%ile in aimcats.! Suggest me some.

1. Your academic scores are decent.
2. Seeing your mock %iles, you should be able to get 90%ile in CAT. But try to improve further. These mock scores have nothing to do much. You can get anything from 80 to 99.xx %ile on the D-Day.
3. Check out my post on cut offs for colleges (1st and 2nd page). I would suggest you to apply to all the colleges with cut off 85+.
I am not planning to take CMAT...will XAT be enough for applying to GIM..?? I mean which one will be eassier....clearin cutoff through XAT or through CMAT?

1. We cannot comment on this as it depends upon the number of applicants applying.
2. To be on safer side, it is always suggested that you take both the exams. If not both the CMAT's, you can opt for any of the CMAT Exam. GIM will be accepting both the CMAT Scores (Sep12 as well as Feb13).
I wanted to inquire if SIBM Pune is good enough for someone with about 3.5 years of experience. As that would be my experience when the 2013 class starts, I am planning to apply to it and have a high chance of getting in as an NRI candidate, I hope so. I have heard that it is very good freshers or for someone with less experience but is not recommended for anyone with higher experience. I will be applying to other colleges as well but not too sure about my candidature there. Please advice me.
The other query is about NMIMS, how about the placements are they good enough for some one with the same profile and is it worth it for someone with 3.5 yr exp to do mba from these colleges. I actually have a low gmat score of 610, dont really know where to apply, so I am going to give gmat again.

1. If you have heavy work-ex, the story is same at every B-School in India.
2. It gets very tough for heavy work-ex students to get good placements if you are changing your profile. e.g from IT to Finance or from Ops to Marketing, etc.
3. But then only possible way to change your profile is to join a B-School. And SIBM and NMIMS are decent enough B-Schools to get in.
4. You can probably check out IMT Gzb as well. I am not very sure which other colleges accept GMAT Scores. ATB.. !!

1. You have selected top b-schools.. :)
2. If you get decent CAT Score, for Ops, you can also apply to IIT-Bombay.
3. If you want to have more options for Fin, you can apply to MFC.
