@puys :: i know wrong place to ask my Q but its urgent i have applied for xat and mailed(speed post) my confirmation page 12 days ago but still didnt recieve any confirmation from XAT ???

@romeo1209 You can check the status of your document on net by mentioning the consignment number on the tracker facility offered by speed post. That will give you a fair idea, if it has been delivered or not. If the delivery has been made then you need not worry and if it hasn't been delivered then you may call up the XAT office. They will be able to help you out.

@7harsh With your attempts you could get anything between 70-75 percentile. Fresher or experienced, either ways, I suggest you move ahead and focus on other exams as within this range you will not be able to fetch expected b-schools. If you wish to apply, you may do so to TAPMI, IISWBM, BIMTECH. NIRMA, FORE-IB. Work hard and give your best in XAT and SNAP. For XAT apply to XIMB, GIM, IFMR and LIBA while for SNAP you may go for SIBM, SCMHRD and SIIB. All the best :)

@swetali Comparisons of b-schools is not allowed on PG. Every b-school is good at its own merit. For any clarifications which you wish to have, it would be better if you can PM seniors form the particular institute as they would be best persons to give you the best picture. @romeo1209 Call up the admissions office. They would be in a better position to answer that. As the tracker says that the document has been delivered, I suggest that you need not worry and concentrate on your preparation. For your assurance you may call them up on Monday and get your doubts clarified. All the best :)

@ut23 CMAT has a total of 100 questions across 4 sections (25 questions for each section) that need to be attempted over 180 minutes. However, MAT comprises 200 questions across 5 sections (40 questions for each section) that need to be attempted over 150 minutes.

MAT is conducted by AIMA while CMAT is conducted by AICTE. Both have been at loggerheads for quite some time now as AICTE is trying to dissolve many entrances and trying to bring more participating institutes under CMAT, without much success though.
MAT is conducted four times a year- Feb, May, September and December. From 2013, CMAT will be conducted twice a year... at a gap of 6 months. The first CMAT for the year 2013 would most likely be conducted online over a period of nine days from February 20 to 28, across 61 centres in two shifts.
The best colleges under CMAT would be:-

First of all its FORE (in caps) as its an acronym for Foundation for Organizational Research & Education! :)
Answer to the query, acads had only 12% weightage in overall selection process last year. There were 2 people in my batch one with 59.xx% and other with 58.xx% in my batch because I guess they compensated for it in their GD PI. And I know they're very good at it. So acads will not be a big concern at FORE.

But I will manage around 60-63% aggregate at the end of B.tech as only last 4 semesters' marks are considered in my university.

Acads will not be a big concern, as there are many top institutes which give high weightage to CAT scores. Other places also, the max. weightage would be around 10-15%, so one can get a GDPI call with a good CAT score, and then easily get final convert by performing well in GDPI.
