What's the difference between PGDM and PGDM HR? I mean, I am 85-90% sure of making my Career in HR. But, I am not sure of the other subjects as Marketing also fascinates me. So in PGDM HR, all the other specializations are ruled out, isn't it? And if I choose PGDM, am I ruling out HR as an option?

@Vineet1991 Almost all top B-schools have electives in IT/Systems in second year. And with majority population being IT work exp and almost all B-schools having some IT/Technology organizations visiting the campus, you won't face much issues getting into IT industry by doing MBA from any of the top 40-50 B-schools in the country.

Consider applying to MIB/MHROD, MFC/MBE, FORE, LBSIM, UBS and after CAT results look out for KJSOM, BIM T, IMI, IMT.

@ajaygovindg sir i am a general student . I wanted to know whether i can avail education loan without collateral security for MBA. Please can you mention the institutes or the bank for which collateral is not needed.Because i basically not getting to which institutes should i apply .

@dipesh_scorp For any amount up to 4lakhs almost all leading nationalized banks do not require any collateral.

@thePANDA Yes, PGDM-HR like at XLRI-PMIR, MDI, IMI etc. would have only HR papers in 2nd year. First year I think there will be basics of all areas. If you go for general MBA then you can consider/understand basics of each and then choose electives based on your interest. If you want to do a dual specialization and are not sure of which other area to focus on, I would recommend a general MBA.

If you're sure about career in HR, then do check out the companies visiting the campus for HR profiles before you choose to join a general course.

@vin16 Fee waiver/scholarship in any B-school is mostly on the tuition fee which is only about 1-2lakhs at max!! So read through and understand the details properly.

Then again, How about "Daring to dream beyond IIMs"?! They give international placements, exposure, foreign trip and what not.

Hey,
I gave my CAT on 3rd November in 3:15 slot.
My academics are:
10th : 84.17
12th: 77.6
B.E. : 52.34

Experience in IT(ERP) of 24 months.

My attempt is :

QA/DI: 17( 1 wrong)
VA/LR: 27(more than 85-90 percent accuracy i feel)

What can I expect?
Would you guide me on which colleges to apply.
I am in a dilemma, I have already applied for MDI and IMI, Delhi. I am also appearing for XAT, SNAP and NMIMS.

I want to go for MBA this very year.
Kindly help.

@preetic You have very good acads and expected CAT score also. Consider applying to NITIE, FMS, XIMB and after results look out for few IITs. Also check MIB/MHROD, MFC/MBE (before results) & KJSOM, IMT, IMI, BIM T (after results) etc. as backup options. Assuming you're a girl (from PG ID), you MAY also get calls from few old/new IIMs because of the gender diversity they look to have in each batch. All the Best. :cheerio:
