[2023] Which B-Schools should you apply to?

Hi all!!!! I am new to this web site....I completed my Engineering this year!!!....I have been working in an IT company since last 5 months....I want to appear for CAT and GMAT....so Work exp of 1 year is sufficient??
For CAT, one doesnt need work ex but def prior work-exp gives some brownie points when you will be considered for the top institutions. For GMAT institutions (available in India and abroad), a work ex of 1 year isnt great. Focus more on strengthening your pitch as a fresher engineer or take up CAT next year. for GMAT, ideally 2-3 yrs work ex is better since the programs available in India are mostly of 1yr and therefore prior-work-exp becomes important.

Having work-ex is not mandatory.

Prepare well and appear for the Exam. All the Best..!!
@gladiatormiley

You should try to solve the DM Section Questions as well. If you practise few questions, you will start feeling comfortable in that as well. The performance in other sections are fine.

Suggest you to appear for XAT. All the Best.. :)

thanks @avinashkrjha

thank you @ibad786

Thanks a lot for information!!!!Also, I wanted to ask you that for getting admitted to TOP B schools around the world like Harward, Insead, is it necessary that you should have done outstanding and extra-ordinary achievements?

Hi. You should start by looking at the profile of students who join the institutions like Harvard, Insead, etc. If you are aware of the competition, then you would prepare likewise. I am sure you will find almost everyone of them extraordinary, and would figure out the kind of impact each of them are capable of creating in the world due to the levels of work and activities they have already done till date. So get to know these people and then proceed with your plan.
@virkars I guess it will be better if you ask this query to someone in the GMAT section. They'll be able to help you better with GMAT score required, kind of profiles which get selected etc.

As per your acads there are tough chances for older IIM's like AB, IIM C on the other hand gives less weightage to acads and so does newer IIM's so you can expect a call from them if you clear the cut-off ...ATB :)

Not all colleges provide MBA IT...The colleges are you mentioned are good but afaik don't provide MBA IT or PGDM IT.

Some Top Colleges that you can go for:
NITIE (PGDIM)
SP Jain (PGDIM)
IMT G (PGDM IT)

Average Colleges:
SCIT (MBA IT)
SICSR (MBA IT)
XISS (PGDM IT)
