@dumb4cat Firstly such a personal attack was uncalled for and I fail to understand the reason for it!! The only reason for asking you to read through the FORE thread is because the objective of this thread is different. It is not to ask institute specific queries. For that there are specific threads like the one for FORE I pointed you to.And of course seniors/super-seniors (read current students) there would know better than you. Why else did you ask me? You could have found out yourself?
And no one asked you to ask me something. You yourself asked me and I answered in the best possible way, considering that you should take some pains in reading through the threads rather than being spoon-fed which you're probably used to! If you're not satisfied with it, go ask someone else. I don't care whether you attend the process or not, whether you do your MBA or not. Having been an aspirant myself I answer some queries here hoping it will help. That's all.
As far as institute name is concerned, it probably doesn't matter to you who is least bothered about the institution/organization you're associated with. All that matters to you is probably money. Good that you're not getting into FORE!! I am proud of the fact that I passed out from FORE and the institute name being quoted correctly (it is basic English that you write acronyms in caps) matters to me irrespective of which forum it is!!!
As per CL answer sheets, I am getting a score of 85 in SNAP. Can I expect a call from SIBM-Bangalore and SIOM? I am asking about these two, because I already know that I am not good enough for SIBM-Pune and SCMHRD 😞
@Bibhu2109 Last year cut off's for SNAP institutes were:
SCMHRD - 84.5
SIIB - 80
SIBM (B) - 75.75
SIOM - around 60
The above information is collected from answers in respective admission threads of last year, so do verify them once again. So you have decent chance for last 3, and if you're lucky a borderline chance for SCMHRD.
@ajaygovindgActually I haven't applied for SIIB. Missed the date 😞 So, yeah two of the above 4. Can you please tell me about the placements of SIOM? The laterals and freshers distinction, and their resp. avg. salries? Is it true that freshers get a chance only after all laterals are placed? And why is the difference in the avg. packages of freshers and laterals so much? Didn't get much help on the SIOM forum. Thats why I am asking here. I will be having 10 months exp. at the time of admission (if it happens).
@Bibhu2109 Well the institute help desk thread at http://www.pagalguy.com/posts/4213724 is the best place to ask this. But if you haven't got answers there I'm not sure how others here will be able to help you because having not been there people wouldn't know exactly what/how things happen there.
Regarding the average salaries, I'm not sure if there will be separate figures for laterals/freshers. I haven't seen this in any placement report of any institute, so I don't think SIOM would be any different. Difference in average is obvious. Laterals are people who have 2+ years of work exp, so then they have had some corporate exposure, and so training cost etc. is less for them, they have know how of how things work/happen in the organization. So then they have higher salaries. Also, about the news about freshers being asked to wait till all lateral placements are completed. Many institutes have separate lateral placement week where companies which prefer only candidates with work exp come in for recruitment. So at SIOM maybe that happens first.
Regarding your work exp, it might not be considered significant because it is less than 1 year. You'll be given some credit for having not been idle during the time after graduation, but it might not have much impact for your selection process in terms of scores/weightage for work exp.

I'm not quite sure about my CAT percentile. Just wanted to know which top colleges re-open their application window after CAT result. I just can't spend 1600-2000 per college without assurance of a call.
He guys, I'm not quite sure about my CAT percentile. Just wanted to know which top colleges re-open their application window after CAT result. I just can't spend 1600-2000 per college without assurance of a call.
IMT and IMI have reopened their admission window in past, and this year they may follow the same trend.
IITs open their admission window after CAT results,
GLIM's second cycle starts after CAt results
last dates for appling to K J somaiya, BIM Trichy, TA PAI,LIBA, We school and SPM are after CAT results. :)
