I've a couple things to ask anybody who can answer..
1) what exactly are we supposed to expect in the 2nd round of IIM admins..?? i know about writing ability test, GD and PI...anything else ????
2) Is it a 2nd and 3rd round or only 2nd round? meaning, If the admission is thru WAT and PI...is it like 2nd round=WAT then 3rd round is PI?? OR is it like 2nd round means every one gets a shot at WAT and PI regardless of their performance in either of them???
3) what exactly is expected/recommended for students right now??? u know, apart from keeping up with current affairs?

And also I've heard Career launcher is useful..But i'm not sure and its probably late anyway.. Are there any alternative tools which will be helpful???

@PMDeepakMP- Most of the IIMs have started with WAT(written ability test), still some of them continue with the traditional GD, which is followed by PI. So, its the combined score of both or all of these will decide your fate..Each component has it's individual weight-age.
@PMDeepakMP- As far as current affairs is considered, in PI the usually ask for business or political related stuff. Also go through some basic terms like policies of RBI such as SLR, CRR, repo rate, reverse repo rate.

@ajaygovindg @avinashkrjha Sirs what are ur opinion about the DMSes in Tech Colleges (Leave aside the IITs) like NITs and IISC? Do we really get the exposure to the same level at other B-schools (in their range) in case studies, guest lectures, which are an integral part of the curriculum along with academics? Or are they famous just because of the brand name which attracts good quality students? Because in some cases i've seen small batch strength and low faulty to student ratio So will we get the same experience in activities such as Team Work, Industry exposure etc.? Would like to hear ur thoughts on this matter.

It specifically says private institutes, so I'm not sure about RGIPT. Maybe you can ask seniors there to know better!!
Other than that, yes your age may be a matter of concern because most of the PSU's have maximum age limit of 27! There are few with above that I believe. You'll have to check the individual websites of the PSU's to know better.
@sonu1412 You can try in some job portals like Naukri, Monster etc. or use your contacts (friends, seniors etc.). But let me tell you in advance that it is not going to be easy and the jobs you might get may not be those high paying ones like in IT sector. So be prepared for the worst also.
@PMDeepakMP As per information known till now, it is WAT/GD & PI only. But you never know, some of the IIMs may also change the process! They'll come out with notifications as needed. Keep visiting PG and the respective IIM threads (which will be opened once results are declared) to be up to date.
It will be one overall process (GDΠ or WATΠ etc.) with specific weightage for scores of each component, which along with other factors like CAT score, past acads, work exp (if any) etc. will decide your final admission.
For GD/WAT read anything that interests you and don't just read but deep dive and read some background info also if possible, analyze, introspect, and form an opinion (positive, negative, neutral) with supporting points for them. Not necessary that you have to take a stand always in a GD/WAT, but then this exercise will help you think objectively and think from all perspectives to get some good points. For interviews prepare some points like your Strengths, Weakness, Why MBA, Projects and anything related to your work exp, Achievements, some of the core subjects from your grad, where you see yourself 5/10 years from now, intended specialization and why etc.

@dumb4cat Firstly its FORE (in caps) as its an acronym. :)
