one querry ... when i filled my cat form , my percentage was 63 [till 6th sem] , but now after 7th sem , it has changed to 66 ......can i get it changed in the database of iim's [if yes then how ? ] coz graduation percentage plays a role in getting call .....

Yes but only after you get a call and get admission not before that. graduation marks do not count for most of the IIM's exception being IIMA and IIMB(where it matters a lot) . rest shouldn't be of much problem. should fetch a call if you score is good
Does any of the b-schools for which the last yr cat cut off was around 90 %ile reopen their registration window after cat results ????
if so, please let me know the names of those ...... so that i can keep in mind and do the registration after cat results if i got more than 90 %ile ????

IMT Ghaziabad And IMI delhi had reopened Their admission window last year,
K J somaiya, BIM T, SPM Gnadhinagar, T A Pai,LIBA close their adission window After CAT Results.
MICA's last date is also after CAT result, however you need to appear in MiCAT also after applying through CAT :)

as per last year trends the good colleges that had their application date before cat were -- spjain,nitie,mdi ,fms and fore
all of the others reopened their deadlines after cat be it imt or imi or kjsom and it would be same this year too in my opinion , infact after your cat you can also apply to IITs in case you are engineer .MICA is yet another exam one could eye as it has last date after cat
so if you are hoping around 90%ile sit tight and apply after cat as many have decalred last date after cat and most probably imi and imt too would reopen after cat
the things you missed are -- spjian,nitie,fms,mdi but they may be too far fetched as they take above 98+%ILE apart from profile based calls of spjain
as far as fore is considered it's cutoff was somewhere in range of 85 last year and in that range you would get other better colleges in terms of ROI
How important is Work Experience ? Im now Interning at a Start-Up. If I work here for 1 year. Will that really help my profile ? Because il be part of decision making here .

@KrishnaKLU Usually work experience of less than 1 year is not considered significant. But not that it will be completely ignored. You'll be given some credit (maybe not mark wise) for not having been idle after completing graduation.
Also I'm not sure if internships will be considered. Usually work exp criteria states "Any full-time work experience after graduation", where you are drawing a salary and in the employee rolls of the organizations.

I have attempted overall 40 questions in CAT '12 hopefully 35-36 would be right
As per sectionwise ,section 1 attempted 21 and section 2 attempted 19 .
I am much confident about section 1 atleast 19 would be right but for section 2 i think around 15-16 would be right ????
So could you please tell me how much %ile should i expect ????
From my perspective i have applied to FORE as i am expecting around 85-90%ile ....
Do i am expecting right or more ????

@lavish08 Well we can't say anything about section wise scores. But overall and from the perspective of deciding which institutes to apply (because many have deadlines before CAT results), you'll get somewhere around 95+ (maybe +/- 3-4 %tile depending on normalization, slot difficulty etc.)

@ajaygovindg Thanks for reply 😃 . I meant after my Internship here.....if i work here for abt an year...and join up in 2014...will that be good ? Because its a startup il be a more important decision maker and have a better role than say an IT company like TCS , Infy etc
@KrishnaKLU Definitely yes. Your learning will be more and you'll also be able to speak at length and with confidence about what you did, reason for MBA etc. But then like I said, on paper your work exp will be less than 1yr, and if the interviewers take note of it that you worked in start up (meaning better quality of work exp) then you will get an advantage in GDPI stage. But then for GDPI call considering the large number of applications only the quantity/years of work exp may be considered.
@ajaygovindg I have given cat for the first time...
section 1- attempted 15 I guess 13 are correct
section 2 - attempted 24 and 22 will be correct
my quant is very bad :(

anything above 97 i would say - ofcourse that depends on your accuracy level and difficulty of slot , nut if 36-37 are right then surely 97+ according to me as per last year trends
sometimes what also happens is if you score very good in one section say VALR and get a 99 in there and in other section your score is below 90 then too you get above 95 for sure as your scores become skewed and very high in one section
but our estimates depend solely upon what you say and what you expect to be correct

If you get a shortlist from any of the institutes, they sometimes ask you to fill up your details again. In that form you can fill in your updated marks or work-ex. And the marks you enter in that form will be considered for final calls.
