though ur query was NOT meant for me to answer, but just thought of adding my two cents to it... if u r quitting job just ensure that u are not left with TOO MUCH TIME to prepare, i mean - 'more than say 6 or 7 months' solely for MBA prep actually backfires as the zeal fizzles out towards the end, and invariably the exams will be scheduled towards the end only!!!
Time ur resignation from job with intense planning.

Apply to Nirma(5-6 lac fees), K J Somaiya(5-6 lac fees) Also. And If You are interested in Energy and Infrastructure, then you may also apply to SPM gandhinagar(5.5 lac fees including hostel).
@sayanfrndz@missionCAT13Probably dates are over for NIRMA.And fee is more than 6. Just check it once on the website.. !!
Not sure about fees, but as far as I know, application dead line has been extended up to 7th jan.. and tuition fee is 5.6 lac for two years (excluding hostel and examination fees)..
@avinashkrjha what is expected cut-off for nirma for fresh BBA STUDENT??
last year it was 80%tile. 😃 Cut off was common for all students. :) nothing can be predicted about this year's cut off, it depends on various factors and number of applicants is one of them . 😃
PLEASE HELP mewhat is the minimum no. of attempts in xat to get 90%ile in all sections..
Sir, percentile score doesn't depend on number of attempts. so no one can say how many questions one should attempt to get above 90%tile. moreover, this is inappropriate thread for such question.. :)
@ansh12345 bro it is confusing plz help I m not able to understand the criteria for admissions of IIMs. I have been thru' many pages of last year's admission related queries regarding IIM Indore. Some guys who are getting overall 99.45%ile qa 99%ile va 97%ile 10th : 93% 12th : 90%

Hello guys, I am from Army background. My age is 31 years. I have 5 years of Work experience in BPO's and now I want to change industry and want to work in some good profile. My current package is 4.5 Lacs. I have an option to take admission in Symbiosis institute of management studies which is for army wards. I don't get much time to study along with my job. It would be difficult for me to crack CAT for top 20 B-schools. I can try for 1 year full time MBA for executives but its very expensive. Can some one suggest me some good institution which has fee around 4 lac to 10 lac. for 1 year MBA.
Will it be right decision to take admission in Symbiosis institute of management studies for 2 year MBA programme at this age. I visited the site of SIMS, pune, Avg package of SIMS pune is 8.49 Lac. Can i get good profile with gud package by studying in SIMS at this age.
Please guide me. I can only study for 2 hours every day not more than that. I am aiming for CAT 2013.
Please help me what should be the right decision for me???????????????
@singhnirbhay I don't think there are any 1 year MBA programmes in India or abroad in that fees range (4-10lakhs)!! There may be exceptions but then a question also arises on the reliability and benefit of doing the programme (Not that the question is not there for others, but for this category it is more of a concern)!!
With almost 5 years work exp I wouldn't recommend a 2 year MBA programme except from the top 10-20 institutes like IIM A, IIM B, IIM C, SPJAIN, FMS, XLRI etc. I had a batch mate who had 5year work exp and he was quoted as "over-qualified" for many jobs that were offered on campus, finally fed up of it he withdrew from placement process and he's now working at a salary of around 4-5lakhs, after MBA!! The average placement figures can be quite misleading in your case!!
Else take the plunge, go for GMAT, and take an admission in any 1 year programme by taking an education loan. You'll definitely get good placements post MBA in a better profile but PROBABLY in same industry. You can then switch industry after 1-2 years when you're in a people management role. Some of the 1 year programmes in India are listed at http://www.pagalguy.com/posts/4246458. Please do further research before you decide to join any of them.

Your friend must be from one of the reserved categories, i can't find any other reason for him getting a call from an IIM. Check his background once :)
