grad engg - 68.74 %

1. do you think that I could get a call from NITIE ...

2. and how is MICA

3. any of the IITs I should fill up?

I know I can not get into IIMs but people have been giving me such varied opinions as to where I should apply and about the quality of the institutes. Please could you tell me the next- best colleges suited to my academics nd cat scores.

You may consider applying to IMI D, IMT Ghz, IIT Kgp MHRM (If Interested in HR) , K J Somaiya, BIM Trichy, TAPMI and MICA (If interested in Advertisement and marketing)

@kanav71 MICA, IMI, TAPMI, KJ Somaiya are all within reach for this score. IIT's - B & D are out. VGSoM is on the borderline as it gives profile based calls. From IIT-M I think you will get all others.

You May consider applying to TAPMI, MICA, IIT Kanpur, IIT Madras, IIT kgp MHRM, K J Somaiya, BIM Trichy, IMT Ghz and IMI Delhi

1) chances of getting call from NITIE are negligible.
2) MICA is best as far as the advertisement and marketing is concerned.
3) You may apply to IIT kanpur and IIT madras. However You are on a border line .

Buddy, you need not post multiple times in such a short span of time. Wait for a response for at least 2-3 hours before posting again!

1. Last year cut off was 97.xx, so chances are less for NITIE call

2. "How" is MICA is something you'll have to decide for yourself based on your expectations from MBA. Any institute in top 40-50 is good in its own terms. If interested in Media Management, Advertising, Communications and other core Marketing profiles, and have a creative bent of mind, then MICA is good for anyone!!

3. It depends on applicant pool in each IIT. How cutoff is decided is based on the seats to GDPI call ratio the institute wants. Say 60 seats XYZ institute wants 10 candidates in GDPI for every seat. So 600. Now based on applicant pool wherever they get this number is the cutoff!! So can you guess/predict cutoff? Can I? Can anyone here? I guess NO. So applying based on last year cutoff is the best option. Moderate chances for IIT Kanpur call (last year cut off was 93). All other IIT's had higher cut off. Read last 5 pages in this thread. I myself have posted the last year cutoff of all IITs.

Snap-95%ile(applied for sibm-p and scmhrd)

Read Some of the previous posts..but still wanted to make sure..have applied for IMT gzb and IMI D..please suggest which other colleges should I apply.

@virtualcasanova Apply to all the IITs except for may be IIT Madras. I guess they have some sectional cutoffs too. Rest all IITs looks good. Still would suggest you to go through the threads of various IITs to be sure about the sectional cutoffs.
