@chitresh1990 said: plz help. I have been getting Cl mock percentile in the range 50 -60. I am giving mocks once in every 3 days. What can i do to build up on this score????? p.s I am also solving the mock questions once again after I give the test.
In my opinion, there are a few reasons why the score dips so low, and if properly analysed, can be increased significantly in CAT.
You see, we all have a strong section, and a weaker section. We allot time according to our preferences to take up which section first, or which section to invest more time on.
Take a look which is the section you are taking up first. If you consider verbal as easy, then take it up first. If you feel, you are good at numbers and hate probability, then I would suggest you to take up numbers first, and leave the probability-perm/com section for the last. The more you solve correctly, the more confidence you will get! It worked for me.
The more you get wrong answers the pressure starts building in you, and that ruins the entire momentum.
The other main reason is speed. There are two ways to approach an exam.
Either You go for maximum attempts and lower accuracy, or you go for minimum attempts and a high accuracy.
I went for the latter.
You see, if you are slow in reading comprehensions and Parajumbles, donot hurry or panic. Take your own time, coz that ways you will end up having more correct answers. There still is about a month's time. Practice on these areas and read as fast as you can.
There is one more reason which people try to ignore most of the times. That is DISTRACTION!
It happened to me a lot of the times. When I was not distracted, I used to score as high as 99 percentile, while if there was some tune, some song, or something else going in my mind, I would score as low as 85 pecentile. You see, this is plain human nature, and only you know what tingles your mind the most while you are trying to concentrate. I suggest you wok hard on controlling it till CAT.
I was a musician, and during the CAT days, I did not listen to a single song for 2 months!
Although there were times when I went out, and heard some song playing somewhere, but then it helped a lot in enhancing my concentration. Stop daydreaming, if you are during your mocks. That takes a huge chunk of your time too.
Rest of it I am sure you know. :)
Keep Calm, and Prepare Well! :)
