working in TCS for past 22 mnth...... Hoping to get around 90percentile in CAT. Should I apply for IMI and MDI..... As per me the chances are not pretty good........ Need some opinion......

1. IMI : As per trend, you need to have 65% in class 10th and 12th. This year it could be 70, 65 or even 60. So you need to take a call yourself and apply. The cut off is 90 for PGDM and 85 for HR. For HR, you can be safe.
2. MDI : The cut off last time was 93.xx %ile but there is good chance of a increment this year. Moreover, for final convert, you need to score high. MDI is 1 college, where your profile doesn't come into picture much.
3. I suggest you to work harder and make efforts to score high in CAT. Analyse your mocks properly. Identify the areas where you are weak. Try to find out the reasons of going wrong - Conceptual, Application or Something else. Work accordingly.

1.If you are not very sure about the score you might get I would suggest that you wait as IMI opens the admission window again for 90%ilers.
2. MDI gives high weightage to the CAT score (approx 70%) so if you get a good CAT &ile; then that should be it.

@shobhitsaxena21 As per your profile, you can aim for top B-schools through CAT. Do not settle for any b-school beyond top 30.
Try to aim for B-schools under XAT and SNAP and NMIMS.

Try for colleges which do not give high weightage to profile like MDI , FMS etc. Now apply to colleges whose admission window closes before CAT results as this would give you the opportunity to apply to the colleges within your %ile range.

1. You def have chances of making into the Top B-Schools if you score high in CAT.
2. Among IIM's, IIM-C is known to be the Mecca of Finance. All other's are also good. Apart from IIM's, some other good b-schools - SPJAIN, NMIMS, MDI, MFC, etc.

We cannot comment about every B-School regarding how decent it is.
That is all relative and would vary with person to person. For some, it can be a good option and for other's, it can't be. So it comes down to the expectation level of the aspirant.
Having said that, let me tell you that IFMR is also a college specific for Finance and average placements of the college is around 7+.

1. Right now, apply to MDI and IMI.
2. Rest can be decided after your CAT Exam as the deadlines of other colleges are after the CAT Window.
3. You should apply to all the colleges with CAT Cut Off's 88+
4. Through XAT, apply to : XLRI, XIMB, GIM
5. Through SNAP : SIBM, SCMHRD
6. For cut off's, refer this :

but
what can be the rang of my actual cat percentile..
in aimcats
i have touched more than 95%tile in both the section many a times
and overall my range is 90-92%ile

If you have consistently been scoring in this range, you can expect to score anything beyond 93%ile in the Actual CAT. Focus hard in the coming days. Keep giving mocks and their proper analysis. Also, don't over stress yourself.
