yess i love finance.....i did take up finance as a subject in my last sem of engineering only to get a feel and i loved every bit of it....but i wanna know...with repect to placements and reality too.
Like for engineering my advice to someone would be to do from IIT, NIIT, DCE or other top colleges ...if u do from other you wont good packages easily
If you are highly inclined towards finance I would you should try applying to K.J Somaiya, JBIMS, NMIMS, SP JAIN . They are the best in finance.

You can also look at niche courses in finance like K.J Somaiya's PGDM in Financial services, NMIMS's MBA in Core Banking, IFMR's PGDM in Financial Engineering ( associated with risk and derivates.

@avinashkrjha what was the cut off for cat last year?
You need to have a minimum of 90%ile. After that, there is various weights assigned to few factors like CAT Score, Acads, etc. Then the shortlist is prepared.

You will get to know about all this once you apply for it. All the Best.. !!
@avinashkrjha sir my profile is
10th 88.4%
12th 74.6%
grad 8.02 CGPA => 75%
how do i expect things to go from here? where should/shouldn't i apply?

1. You can apply to any B-School in India. Your acads won't be a hurdle anywhere.

2. Shortlist Colleges based on your expectations and Mock Performance and apply. Let us know if you have any specific query regarding any college.

Your acads are good enough for most of the B schools.
So, do not decide depending on our acads.
rather decide depending on your mock scores
thnku @avinashkrjha n @swayambhar sir

All the B schools are worthy, depending on, what are the options you have. Please do not use pagalguy for comparison of B schools. Use PM rather
@divyeshbohra yes

Please some suggestions Guys ... my scores are falling badly in the mocks.. Depressed
DON'T PANIC
Finding the area which is pulling down your %ile will help not panicking. Take a break from mocks (skip 1 mock) and find the area in which you are faring poorly and then revise that section. Revise concepts and practice problems which you have previously solved . It will help boost your confidence. Don't burden your self with expectations at this point. And remember it is the CAT that matters not mock CATs .

For details on cut off's and admission process, I suggest you to search the individual IIM Ex Helpdesk thread. You will get to know every detail.

Before your CAT Exam, 2 colleges have the deadlines : IMI, MDI.

Apart from that, every college has deadlines post CAT Results. You can apply after giving your CAT Exam.. !!
