Does Accreditation actually play such a big role? One of my friends from abroad was sharing something about this.. But does it matter for Indian B-Schools too?
@sudhanshugup An institute without an accreditation is similar to a practising doctor without an MBBS degree. Accreditation ensures that an institute is in compliance to all statutory rules and regulations of the law and is legally answerable for disputes, if any, should so occur. Even there have been wide spread awareness campaign being run by Government of India trying to educate prospective students to ensure the authenticity and credibility of the institution before they zero in on any one and accreditation is one of the major component of authenticity. So any institution be it either management, technical or one dispersing some form of education should be recognized and accredited by some government body.
HiIam working since 2 years in HCL tech. By the time of admission i will be having a experience of 2.5 years. So can anyone suggest how is SCIT for MBA in IT ?how much package can i expect from SCIT after MBA ?your suggestions would be really helpful.Iam not a very high ranker in CAT .Any other good B schools with a 85-90 percentile in CAT ?
SCIT has an avg package of around 5-5.5 Lacs as far as I know.
With a 85-90%ile in CAT, you could aim for the following colleges -->
I prefer to take HR in MBA.I currently work for TCS,n have 1 n haf yrs of experience. Can anybody let me know if working as an RMG helps in my MBA?And also let me know the difference between RMG & HR....

RMG is a specific group in a firm , Resource Management Group deals with Resource mapping to a role within an organization .. Mostly prominent in project oriented firms such as consulting , IT , Infrastructure
HR is a domain consisting of different roles from Generalist to Recruitment to learning and development
RMG experience should help you in some way .. but it doesn't cover HR , rather we consider HR as a separate function to RMG
@sunwinderpal - That is AICTE Basic Accreditation process. I am talking about INTERNATIONAL ACCREDITATION processes which are not mandatory.. What is their importance?

GIM would be taking Feb CMAT Scores as well.
The same shall be updated in the application form after few days.
@abhimukh19 ...Thank u abhimukh for the clarification. Do you think that the kind of work experience really matters or anything is the same?I mean having experience as a RMG scores me some bonus points in my MBA HR than having experience as system administrator or developer?
Fortunately now I have an opportunity to get into a new project,so I want to take advantage of it.

@sudhanshugup Barring IIMs and a few other top notch institutions, Indian b schools are yet to make their mark at global level. Though efforts are on their way to acquire international
accreditation like Association of MBAs (AMBA), the European Quality Improvement System (EQUIS) and the American AACSB (Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business) which would improve the brand value and give impetus to these schools to project themselves at a global level, but still it would be with due course of time that these would be acquired by the institutions. If you are planning to do an MBA from a foreign university these accreditation do acquire a lot of importance but in the Indian context these do not matter much for now though in future the trend may change. There are many excellent institutions in our country who have not yet acquired or are in the process of acquiring these accreditation but are most sought after by the prospective candidates. So, if you are planning to join an institution in India, do not worry much about international accreditation, and choose them basis normal evaluating parameters viz. faculty, alumni, infrastructure etc.
