[2023] Which B-Schools should you apply to?

Hi Friends, I wanted to do MBA and some one told me for IIM's you need a good academic record. My academics are 60% through out from X to Btech, though I have 14 months of work experience. Yes, I am getting above 90%ile in Mocks. please let me know some good colleges which I can convert and yes please do let me know about IIM's also.

hey puys, i've been scoring around 98 percentile consistently in AIMCAT's and CL Mocks, do i have a chance in top 3 IIM's?, assuming ofcourse i perform equally well in the actual CAT also 😃

Yes, why not?

If you score very high in CAT, you def stand a chance to get a call from top 3 IIM's based on your past academic performance.

If you score high in CAT, you could def have a chance for few (if not most) of the IIM's.

Apart from IIM's, you stand good chances for most of the B-Schools based on your CAT/XAT Scores.. !!

i scored 208 in sept cmat... should i try for gim? what would be my chances? also is work ex an imp parameter in gim? cuz i'm a fresher..

There is a 10% weightage for work-ex. But that doesn't mean Freshers are not selected. There is a weightage of 10% for acads also.

As far chances at a score of 208 is concerned, It looks a bit doubtful.

Nevertheless, I would suggest you to apply and give Feb CMAT Score inorder to improve your score to around 230+ so that you can be sure of the GD/PI Call.

hi guys,
i took my cat on 18th Oct 2nd slot, found DI tough and lengthy ,quant moderate , LR lengthy and tough and verbal confusing with lots of inferential ques in passages .Was able to attempt only 14 in section 1 and 13 in section 2 ,with 85% accuracy .
any one who has taken exam in same slot please comment . also i would like to ask from all of u wat percentile i can expect and wich colleges shuld i apply to now ??
to add 10th- 87.2% ,12th-88.6% , btech-80% ,workex -16 months till date.

You profile is decent..

It will now depend on your CAT Score.

Can you let me know your Average CL/TIME Mock Scores so that I can suggest you few colleges based on your attempts in CAT & Mock performances.. !!

Hi avinash ,

thnkxx for d quick reply ,bt i dnt think my Mock performances are very sightful .they have been ranging between 65-75 percentile.

Okay.

See. Based on your attempts in CAT, I personally feel you might expect a Score in the Range of 70-85 based on the difficulty level & the actual accuracy level.

In this Range, you won't find many decent B-Schools to apply to.

But still, you can take some chance by applying to Nirma, LBS, Fore IB as their cut off's are expected to be in lower 80's.

If doing MBA is a compulsion, then you can apply to BIMTECH.

There are few B-Schools where in you can apply after your CAT Results. Some of them being NIT's, TAPMI, LIBA, IFMR, MIB/MHROD, etc.

So if you get a decent CAT Score, you could apply to these colleges.

Now, I would suggest you to focus very hard on XAT/SNAP. All the Best..

What's the difference between XAT registration number and XAT id ?
For GIM registration, when I give my XAT reg number, its coming "accepts only integer values "

Do not write XAT. Write only the Numerical part of your XAT ID.

hi.....i hv 82 % in 10th standard,70% in 12th and 65 % in graduation..i m in my 3rd year of b.e.do i have a chance of making the cut in snap colleges?also what rmy chances in top 30 b schools.?i have no work experience.plz answer my query...

You have decent academics so if you come up with a great score followed by a good performance in GD/PI then you are definitely in with a chance to get any college apart from the top 10... ATB :mg:

@ut23 Definitely if you can secure around 75 percentile in AIMCATs, with some more effort you will be able to secure around 85-90 percentile in CAT, at which you can expect a call from Nirma. SCMHRD does not accept CAT scores and shortlists candidates basis SNAP. If you are well prepared for CAT, then that will take care for SNAP too. Please ensure that you brush up on your GK which is one additional section in SNAP. Cheers !!! :)
