Right now apply to --> NITIE, IMT, XIMB, MFC (For Fin), KJ-Som
Rest can be though of after CAT Results.

Following are the Placement Figures of 10-12 Batch that Passed out ->
Average - 7.86
Median - 8
Highest - 14.42
It was the 1st batch with an Intake of 240. Earlier the Intake used to be 120. Last year the Avg was 8.82
Figures are def going to improve this year.. !!

Depends on a lot of things
1) Your performance in CAT or other entrance exams
2) No of calls you have and the percentage you convert
3) Your wish to do an MBA from top 10 college or not
For me this decision only legal or feasible once you convert a few calls especially GIM or bette
Statistically speaking top 10-20% of students in tier 2 colleges perform much better than bottom 50% of the students at top most colleges

If you score around 95+ in cat then you are definitely in for a call from SP JAIN and
XIMB is also taking CAT Score buddy... Good Luck :mg:

@aimlesscat I am a bit bewildered by your query friend. Still, would strongly urge you not to do such an activity for any b-school interview. I'm sure you would have heard of the domino theory, your one such mistake now would hurt you badly in future. The professors to whom you would be giving your interview are veterans and would not be fooled by a dummy document if they happen to see your work experience certificate. My sincere advice would be to immediately shut such thoughts, start working hard and earn your place as every successful candidate who has cracked CAT has done so.
I want to know if all B-schools that take the CAT scores insist that the sectional cut-offs are cleared. What are the average cut-offs for NITIE, IIT-Bombay?
I took the CAT today. My Quant sucked, but I did pretty well in the Verbal Section (at least I am confident). This is the first and probably, the last time, I am taking the CAT, and want to know if and where I stand a chance.
Should I apply to NITIE, IITs? I don't want to apply somewhere I have absolutely no chances of getting in.
Please help.
@rags-at-work - See what SP Jain looks for only they know it...U can never say for sure.. dey do see acads but apart from that they also see oder things....for ops i know they do see the amount & the company of work-ex
XIMB is taking from CAT....last yr cut off was 94 OA, 90 QA & 95 VA.......so think over it.....
@Akshaya1005 Buddy, you are the best judge of your exam. Sectional cut offs have always existed and would continue to do so. Though I am not cognizant of the sectionals for SJSOM and NITIE, though they were part of the CAT cutoff, but overall they hovered around 98.5 and 97 plus respectively. Retrospectively analyze how your exam had been through and then you can make your choices. But, I would still urge you to apply, it is better to be safe than sorry. All the best :)
