[2023] Which B-Schools should you apply to?

@abhimukh19 yes. sadly i missed IMI :-(, but applied for MDI
@abhimukh19 any chance for re-opening for IMI ?
@sunwinderpal - But some one told me that there are 5 Colleges in India already accredited by AMBA and a couple by AASCSB. IIM-Lucknow, IIM-Kozhikode, MDI have the same. Also, latest entrant is IMI, which has been accredited by AMBA for 5 years.

So should one keep these factors in mind while selecting the college or in Indian context, it does not matter?

@RohitphulsungeI believe this list was prepared before the IIT-Delhi fiasco.Had it been prepared earlier, then IIT-Delhi would have made it to category-A+
Lets not point out a single b-school , many others may as well be culprits of the same

I think it was not necessary to share a ranking on this thread else there is purpose for this thread if we were to believe in rankings

Guys my CAT was on OCT 21 and it was okayish..

I have also applied for XAT and not any associated institutes..

I am also thinking of applying for SNAP ..with regards with my budget constraints i can not apply for all the b-schools..can you please list out the main colleges under XAT and SNAP to apply for..and also is it worth applying for SNAP..i mean when compared to XAT , i have never heard much from people talking about SNAP..

Please help me regarding this

hi frndz...

cn smone tl me that does GIM accept feb cmat score.....??

@Shivianithakur yes. best of two CMAT scores will be cosidered. ATB.

But the process for feb CMAT score consideration is not yet finalized. It will be anounced soon. stay tuned

@sudhanshugup Hello buddy, as I had highlighted that IIMs had made their mark globally and remaining top b-schools are lining up in the same direction which is an extremely positive and healthy step. You are right that the mentioned b-schools have acquired the respective accreditation but it will still take some time before an accreditation becomes one of the critical differentiating factor. Yes of course, if you are faced with a choice amongst a set of same league of institutions , then it will help you in tilting the balance in its favor. Over the period of time, say around 5-7 years, these accreditation would assist them to attract students form other parts of the world if they so decide to expand their horizons. At the present moment you may put it as your secondary not your primary criteria. All the best :)

SCMHRD, Pune (accepts SNAP)
Symbiosis Institute of Business Management, Pune (accepts SNAP)
these two are good colleges considering snap. SIIB is also a good one i guess, but comes after these two.
And coming to XAT: XLRI and XIMB are good. Please do further research regarding these colleges based on your requiremens.
@AbhiOfficial : hello buddy..and how is SIOM (Symbiosis Institute of Operations Management).
I have applied to SIBM and SCMHRD ..does these two colleges give value to work ex??
What was the last year's cutoff for a GD PI call for SIBM and SCHMRD??

CMAT AIR Rank: 1406
Attempted CAT on 21st Oct: 19 solved with very good accuracy and in second section pretty sure about 10 LR...but verbal was really hard...
My last SIMCAT score : 96.5%tile..
I really dont know what to do regarding applying to colleges. Please throw light on the institutes that i need to apply separately..and do i really stand any chances...Kindly help..

SNAP Colleges cutoff last year:

1. SIBM 91.75
2. SCMHRD 84.5
3. SIIB 80
4. SIBM(B) 75.75
i dont know much about SIOM.

@sunwinderpal - The problem I am facing is that except top 3 colleges, there is no league itself for huge number of colleges...
The various Rankings and articles make the situation further more complex. A cousin from US was speaking highly about these accreditation, so was curious about the same..

Hi Puys,

Should Faculty Profile make a difference to which college to be selected?

Also, any idea as to how various colleges rank on Faculty Profile? Because new IIMs are supposedly having quite a dearth of them??
@sudhanshugup I understand buddy, which is why I precisely emphasized that for Indian context kindly do not put much emphasis on the international accreditation. Things are really simple here, we all are aware which are the best and good institutes in our country for management education. Just work hard, ace the entrance exams and GD/PI and you will be studying in the best. Cheers !!! :)
@AbhiOfficial : Rankings in Pagalguy are people-perception-based. And a few sites like Business today and all allow paid rankings. Paid Rankings mean-The more you pay higher gets your ranking in the list 😁 . yes, you will see some names in those lists you won't believe your eyes.
Since PG is perception based, you can see how SIMSREE is ranked. We all know of its reputation.
We fight hard for securing a call at the IIMs but we can also see how some IIMs are ranked. You might argue that they are new but boss, you must agree to the fact that an IIM is an IIM.No matter what.given anyday you would go to an IIM-X over many names that are here shown in PG.

The best rankings are provided by these coaching institutes like IMS,TIME, CAREER LAUNCHER, who deal with students and their futures . If for nothing then at least for their own reputation.

I can't say much about BIM-Trichy despite being with PG for some few years now-the same reason why many can't say and the same reason why many haven't/won't vote for it. May be because the college does not portray its brand like all other colleges do-or may be because it does but doesn't reach the upper part of the country wherein lies the maximum CAT-takers. :D
But personally, given many other colleges above their ranking in PG, I will definitely go for BIM-T or SIMSREE.

Based on your accuracy in Verbal, you can expect to score a good %ile.

I would suggest you to apply to colleges with Cut Off %ile 85+

Some of them being ---> IMT, BIM, KJ-SOM, UBS, MFC, NIRMA, Fore, etc.

If Budget is not an issue, I would suggest you to apply to NITIE as well if you are an Engineer. You never know, you could get a %ile of more than 97.. !!

You can apply to few colleges after your CAT Results.

All the Best.. 😃
