Oldies are more comfortable because its almost like home but I guess the newbies are just overwhelmed!! 😃

I was just thinking the other day if we will have enough articles initially. I know, a time will come when some serious editing needs to be done but as of now... our junta are just happy with posting on the forum!!! 😃

Its like giving a mike to a blabbermouth, off the mike, hes in full form but later goes reticent...

All junta, dont reduce your posts out here but sure take the time & interest to write some articles. I sure felt great when my article was posted.. 😁 😁

Good writers... average writers... bad writers... All are welcome...

The Matrix and Cat

Matrix and Cat? What the hell has matrix to do with Cat? well matrix was a sci fi movie of course a good one at that and Cat on the other hand is the toughest exam to get through in the world ,so where does the similarity begin and where does it end? The answer is elementary my dear Watson.

Well yours truly feels that success is 1% inspiration and 99% perspiration. Of course Matrix cant help u with perspiration but it can definitely help u bout inspiration stuff. Feel interested? Read on.

The cat is all about belief in yourself. Through all the innumerable mocks, simcats, aimcats a person is bound to fell tense, stressed and at times depressed, if he or she scores badly. At that time you feel as you r good for nothing fellow and life sucks big time and u cant make it through even if u study 26 hours a day. The whole world seems to be conspiring against you to make sure you dont get through Cat. Life seems to be heading no where but towards doom. What to do in such a scene?

Well, THE KEY NEO, IS TO BELIEVE. Yes thats the key .Precisely what Morpheus told Neo.The key is to believe in yourself, in your abilities, in harnessing your strengths and overcoming your weaknesses. All the greatest men in this world have at one point in there life or another have had this feeling .but they chose not to submit to the fear for my dear friend courage doesnt mean no having fear, but to move forth in spite of fear.

And why shall you be afraid? Of what shall you be afraid? You know that you r good that u r the best that u can clear the cat that u can crack the toughest of paper in no time .So why the fear the anxiety the butterflies in stomach? Coz u havent learned to believe in yourself. Start believing in your self and the world will be in your feet. Remember how Neo transformed when he begin to believe. So from today just START BELIEVING.

hope this time u'll see it.

hey guys...

-- Do you think that the B-schools' ranking issued by various magazines give a true picture of B-schools in India? HOLY COW! MDI at 18th position behind TISS and Symbiosis, ICFAI and LIBA. Are we in some other century? This was the reaction of one of our reader when asked about recent B-schools' rankings issued by one of the most prominent business magazines in India. And the story continues, year after year few months before CAT examination, the so-called Business magazines come out with 'supposedly-scientifically-calculated' B-school rankings igniting another debate on the credibility of such rankings. The situation was no different this year, the magazines again came out with rankings giving rise to various controversies. And why these magazines should not come out with such rankings as MBA has surged ahead of other professional courses and is in every student's 'must-do" list. With the number of students appearing for CAT, MAT, XAT swelling each year, the possibility of higher sale of such special issues becomes bright. An MBA degree can take you places, can make your pockets deeper. But the question is -- Is an MBA degree from any 'self-boasting' institute enough? The answer is no. Then how to decide which institute would lead to the right path and which would prove to be a dead end. This is where media plays its role of showing the right path to future aspirants. But the question is, whether the media is playing the role of a guide or the role of a business house more concerned about the sale of its copies. Let's see what the grapevine says about the credibility of the B-school rankings which these magazines dish out to its readers. This year, out of six IIMs, IIM-L, IIM-I and IIM-K did not take part in the rankings, and that was why some of the magazines put these institutes lower than what they deserved actually. In fact, the real shocking piece of information given by grapevine is that the institutes which gave advertisements in these special B-school ranking issues got higher ranking than what they actully deserved. Apart from advertisements, some B-schools paid a `price' of Rs 2 lakh for a position in top-20 B-schools. As i can not substantiate this piece of information due to lack of evidence, i leave it to ur decision to judge by themselves the credibility of such rankings. Another reason for disagreeing with these rankings is the inconsistency of various magazines as far as these rankings are concerned. This year as well, MDI, a higly reputed B-school, has been ranked at a dismal 18th position while another magazine has ranked it as high as 3rd. Though the procedure followed by all magazines to rank B-schools is different and parameters are also a bit different. However, a person with a stable mind would never believe so much of variance between two rankings. These magazines take into account various parameters such as average salary (at the time of placements), teachers qualification, reserach work done by an institute, prior placement record, infrastructure, industrial relationship, visiting faculty etc. All the above parameters play an important role in the final prepration of the rankings. One problem that readers find in such rankings is that so many parameters make these rankings so complex that it itself becomes a problem of data interpretation. One of the magazine used parameters such as Recruiter's Top 10, Wannabe MBAs Top 10 , MBA Students Top 10, Young Executive Top 10. But the question is, should the above factors guide our decision or factors like mean salary, teachers reputation and curriculum should be the deciding factor? So, what should a wannabe MBA do? Our advice is, do not just go by such rankings. Try searching for some other reliable sources as well. The fact is, these rankings provide you the sketch of the picture which you have to draw yourself. One should also look out for various factors which one thinks should be a good parameter to judge any B-school. Factors like how consistently is a college being visitors by recruiters, performance of previous batches, star performers (alumini) and brand loyalty of the college in the industry. B-school ranking is a new trend which Indian media has inherited from its Western counterparts. In the latest World Top-100 rankings issued by the British weekly "Economist's" recently, IIM-A was ranked 64th and was the only B-school from India to appear in the ranking. It was also the highest rank achieved by any B-school from Asia. So, no magazine in India could dare to stand up and question IIM-A's numero uno position. And even if some magazine would have dared to do so none would have believed the credibility of such a ranking. One of the most important fact that came out from various rankings is that the top three positions in most of them went to IIM A, B and C respectively. This proves one thing for sure. Either these are the undisputed podium finishers or ranking them in top three assures higher credibility of such rankings. In the end, all we can say is that the IIMs still rule the rankings and it is not yet time to think beyond the IIMs. READERS' VIEWS These rankings can not be trusted and most of them are fake because money makes everything possible. Pay for it and get the job done....... plz peply me if u think the same.................

kapil sachdev

Err.....is that your OWN article??? these initial opening lines kinda sound as giveaways

This was the reaction of one of our reader when asked about recent B-schools' rankings issued by one of the most prominent business magazines in India.

If it is indeed so, thanks for your contribution, but let it be known that as of now, we are steering clear of the rankings game, both on the forum as well as on the portal......Seen too much muck-raking over this (non)issue

And if it ain't your own article, then plz re-read the rules for contribution :)

Cheers

well rohitk
it was really nice to read ur article. its truely inspiring. reminded me of something. u can judge what i am saying from my Picture by the side of the message.

bye buddy.

i know..im probably being a pain, but kuch toh batao...what doth my article stando??

Actually, there are loads of articles lying with me to be put up. So for the next one - two months- no user submission would go on the portal. The reason is that we prefer to put up a new one every week. An new article is scheduled tonight.

As for the exact status in terms of editorial content - err. the editors have to comment .. Haven't heard from em 😉

:p
thanks for the update 😁
