Hi Kispu,
Congrats man for ur Imperial admit.. one small clarification u told u attended a i/v long back in 2008 and ur geting admit this year did u defer ur admission till 2009 ?? or hw is that ... does the i/v has strong appeal in making an admission offer ... i am yet to take my TOEFL what is the score they want on TOEFL/ IELTS ...do they offer admission without these reqts or is it mandatory .
Secondly as per my research Imperial schhol is strong in technology entrepeneurship and many students who come out start their own business in technology consulting if that is ur cup of tea then ur at right place and Imperial also pumps money into various research projects... it has a special practice session called Innovation, Entrepeneurship and Design (IED) held every month to boost the entrepreneurs focussed on hw they shld carry their business 3 years down the line etc... apart from this this has a very gud brand across the globe including India ..these are some points I know there are lot many ...
Hey Pramod
I did not defer my admission. I went to this QS World MBA fair and happened to meet Ms Dot. Had informal chat with her, which turned out to be an interview to my luck.
Btw, I feel though the college focus is mainly in I&E;, I aspire to get into management consulting only. Being at the heart of London, I feel imperial is closer to highly potential recruiters. I agree there is more focus on I&E; but I also it does not make big difference whether I study at IMperial or Lancaster or Cranfield to get into management consulting.
-Good luck for ur interview and keep posted
Regards
Sundar

Btw, I tried to get a waiver for TOEFL but they insisted during the conditional admit. So I gave my Toefl and cleared the cut off (in website.. I think around 98 min with some individual cut off).
Interview will have definite weightage..
Cheers

Hello, I was just wondering how long it took for each of you to hear back. On my status page it says Application being processed and under the View details it says Application has been sent to department. It has been saying this for more than 5 weeks. Thanks,
I got the decision by email within a week after the interview. So.. if your interview is over, and you haven't heard back, it means the application should still be under review.
The online studenteservice portal (not the embark site) still shows my status as "being processed".. But let's not worry about it. It's the peak time.
Guys !! Please Please Please help me out

I have an admit to MBA program for 2009-10. I was wondering how good is the program and whether you guys decided to join.
I was looking at the accreditation and found that it is not aacsb accredited. Imperial is a great school for engineering and medicine, but how about business school? How is Imperial MBA considered among recruiters, especially in India?
Please let me know what you guys think.

Before i answer any of your queries...
Can you tell me only one thing.... when you paid your application fees and
applied to Imperial... didnt you feel that money spent needed to be researched... No offense meant...
Anyways to answer your query... Imperial is a very good school... the best part about the school is the personal attention each student gets...
its a very small class of approx 50 students....
Yes Imperial is the best in UK for Engineering and allied studies.... the MBA may not be considered the best... but it has consistently been in the top 40 FT rankings... which in itself is a big achievement....
It is known for entrepreneurship and consulting mainly... but like any other MBA school finance is also great...
Recruitment is also good and career services also has a very personal touch...
so i hope that gives you a fair idea of the whole school.... and helps make your decision... I am sure your interviewer must have given you a good briefing of the school and the recruitment process... if not... soon the head of career services will be in touch with you to work on your career decisions... and the path to go ahead...
All the Best...
How about accreditation though? Will no aacsb an issue with recruiters?
rdecartus SaysHow about accreditation though? Will no aacsb an issue with recruiters?
there are 3 accreditations which MBA schools apply for and globally there are about 30 schools who have all the 3....
this does not mean the other schools are any less better....
so really not having one accreditation does not take away the fact that imperial is a very good school with impressive lineage.....

Hi Guys,
Let me introduce myself first as this is my very first post in pagalguy. I am Chirag/4yrs work ex with TCS. Also, thanks to Sundar for starting this thread. It was quite helpful when I was applying for Imperial.
I have also got an admit from Imperial for the batch starting Oct09. So Saurabh, can you please add my name to the list too ?

Now comes the hard part of arranging the finances as I haven't got any scholarship. So, I am looking at students loan right now.
Also, Sundar mentioned about starting a mailgroup of some sort in previous posts for Imperial 2010 admits. Please let me know if you have already started one? It would be great to know some people beforehand before embarking on the course.
cheers!!!
