vese im looking forward for mdi and IIM-idr result.....i would love to forefoe this 85000 for MDi/ IIM...but still...if i have to compare between UBS and FORE..which one is worth??
and if UBS is the option, then is it worth wasting 85000 for ubs????

i beleive its a pretty tricky question. i would have stuck to Fore precisely because of the quality exposure and because of the city advantage.
in case u convert MDI or the IIM's then nothing like it. then it is worth wasting 85k
i think Fore,UBS are equally good.........it now depend on what location you want

a special thanks to saltnvinegar for finally telling the ppl wut me and ziad have been shouting our throats out since the beginning of this thread...seriously ppl.....r u all plain dumb or just too lazy to look for ur ans....the whole thread is bloody filled with repeated qs. of FORE vs UBS...inspite of consistently been told by the mods not to do direct comparisons...still even if u were lukin for ans....they r there...all u need to do is take sum pains of readin the thread out man!!!i swear!!!

when i paid fees at insti on 17th... ppl there in Administrative dept. told me that course will began on 16th June... for first 2 weeks there will be an induction/introductory program...
which will cover basics of subjects like Eco , accounts for all those who are not familiar with these (basically Enggs.).... i m one of them 
one thing i didn't liked abt fore is... that there will be dress code (white shirt and Dark grey troser for guys... for Gals Donno )
Fore is lookin for new hostel wid in a radius of 5 kms... less chances of continuing wid old hostel... outsiders will be preffered for hostel accomodation.. and u have to submitt a application for same... (i am a delhite... but told them that i am from Bangalore

hey i just cleared the waiting list of fore.. my only other convert is icfai hyd.. waiting fr kj somaiya.. but i thnk i'll stick to fore.. ppl who have paid the fees??? do v have to go in person or can v send it by post??? coz in web they haven't mentioned anythng.. else i got to book tickets to delhi

one need not to go in person for addmission...nebody in place of u.. wid all required docs, Affidavit in addmission lettre and DD can go

hello friends..i need yr humble help pls.
i have already paid the 85k at fore and blocked a seat there...but i got the waiting at imi-26th...and it requires me to pay 1.3lac by 23rd evening.
after being kicked by mdi, and less expectations from iim-indore...i am getting a feel that i have to chose between fore and imi only...since i have dropped the idea of taking admission at ubs....even after clearing in top 10 ranks.
my indore result seems to be postpone further......beyond 23rd.....so now what shd i do????
shd i forget imi...or is it worth forgoing 85k at fore for IMI????
please get me the clear picture.

hey dude dont worry..freshers ve a decent chance..i m a fresher too..and i converted fore this time..and bout the profile..c as for me..no extra curriculars ,no academic awards..just a decent percentage in graduation(economics hons, delhi university) and percentile in cat fetched me a call..
as far as the cut off is concerned this time i guess it was 90..so prepare well and dont worry bout profile..a gud score in cat increases ur chances..best of luck...tc

Urs is truly a very confusing situation. At the end of the day its u who have to take a call, but what i feel is that its not worth losing 85k for IMI. I know IMI is better than FORE but the margin is no that big. Also u still dont know ur indore result and things can go anywaz. U might get stuck up in a scenario where u pay 85k for fore, 1.3L for IMI and then join IIM, indr.
Students from FORE as well as IMI are almost offered similar profiles but if u still persist that u dont want to lose even the slightest of adv in terms of college then better go ahaead with IMI.

What u say is quite obvious. Any institute wud defend itself. thats why i said it urs take at the end of the day. I understand that 85k is not a small amount but also that one cant put one's career at stake for such a sum.
I went through the post on imi as well. I know imi is better than fore but found it hard to digest that its faculty is better than indore.
its tough for nybdy to give an objective opinion on the issue. there is bound to be some partiality.
The best thing i can advice you is chk out the avg package and the highest package of the speacialisation u want go for, in the respective institues. That will make the picture clear. Till then u wud keep swinging like a pendulum.
Just one question I wud like to ask is that why are u not going for UBS. Jut out of curosity.
Also one last statement. The profile of students at FORE and IMI will almost be similar. The difference is only that those who clicked on the D Day got higher percentiles n more calls....
oops..am i again being subjective???its better i shut up.

look prerna...i m a FORIAN but i'll b really objectiv and realistic....
IMI is a really gud institution, it is better than FORE
firstly, god forbid if u dnt make it thru IIM-I, n if u deposit the money for IMI, u loose 85K of FORE, total loss of just 85K....koi baat nahin...IMI se u will get a very good placement, wen compared to FORE. n u can make such a sacrifice for your career....u r not getting into a bad institution neways
Secondly, if u do make it thru IIM-I, n u pay d fees for IMI also...total loss, almost 2 Lacs...now c the bigger picture, u will hav an IIM tag on you, its a big deal, u r gona get an absolutely fundoo placement frm ther,u can clear d burden of dis extra 2 lakhs very easily.....n even d fees of IIM-I will b lower wen compared to FORE or IMI, so u hav a win win situation in both cases...
I say Pay the money at IMI...
