I have applied to FORE almost 1 month back i.e. on 14th DEC i guess.
I had downloaded the form and sent a DD with it so i didnt have the FORM NO or so...
I didnt receive the prospectus either..
Is there any way of knowing my status based on CAT reg no or name??

i got 86.67 percentile in cat(ist attempt) with 26 percentile in english...
academics:
84.2% in 10th
74.4% in 12th
currently pursuing btech(cse) from guru nanak dev university, amritsar..
i have good achievements like was the winner of " squieeez" competition conducted by iit roorkee and even got all india rank 306 in national science olympiad sponsored by wipro, etc etc...
i am involved in various activites as well...
please let me know do i stand any chance for the call....please help

I have applied to FORE this year and my CAT %ile is 92.43 ,decent acads ,2.5 yrs of IT exp at IBM.
Just now saw the Pagalguy Ranking of B schools . I was shocked to see FORE at 40 th position. I somehow had the perception that FORE comes within top 25 . Based on the CAT %ile on which the institutes send call I thought FORE comes after NITIE,MDI,IMT G, IMI. Also it has the location advantage . But in the ranking TAPMI , KJSOM ,NIRMA and even new colleges like Great Lakes are placed better.
Seniors please throw some light on this. Is this really the story? In what aspects are those colleges better than FORE ? Is it placement or faculty or anything else?
About the placement scenario no one is coming up with the exact figures. Not even the FORE website. Is there any way to know this ? It is one of the most important criterion for opting for a B school .So why no clear cut discussion on this topic ?

In the ranking several Symbiosis colleges other than SIBM and SCMHRD are also in good positions.
How this ranking has been done?
Did not apply to any of the colleges like TAPMI, KJSOM, NIRMA etc beacuse I thought FORE is much better college than these.
Now all the last dates for applying is over. The PG B-school ranking has shattered all hopes.

well FORE is much better than all the other colleges mentioned in the post. Why?
1) The Placement (Packages as well as Profiles offered). Placements at FORE have a good track record and are coming up BIG TIME. Much better than the other colleges mentioned
2) Great Faculty - No Complaints regarding that. Loads from IIMs IITs have rich industry experience and have taught for a number of years in BSchools that have been ranked much higher.
3) The Locational Advantage of being in New Delhi. This is where the companies are. An advantage in faculty regular as well as guest. We have weekly interaction with the Corporates. I guess our Locational Advantage has a great role to play in that.
4)Extremely strict about attendance discipline etc etc we crib no end but hey thats a good thing

1) Infrastructure..Although therez a new campus coming up in Gurgaon but it will take time

i have got an overall percentile of 99.26
but in LR i got only 31
is there any sectional cutoffs in FORE?

well about the survey it is not authentic just based on perceptions no analysis of any of the aspects that matter placements,infrastructure,Faculty etc not even so much as visiting the BSchools.....The methodology is inappropriate..you can see in the survey discussion the moderator himself has said that the results are not indicative. There is serious criticism being meted out to the methodology of the survey in the thread
And yes Another weakness of FORE is the perception..the administration is very miserly to spend anything on creating awareness among the common junta but it is well known among the corporates and enjoys a good reputation with them.
About the percentiles I expect it to go up this year and sectionals are taken into account.and yes work ex is a big help
