Hello ,
This post might sound funny to many of you; but believe me, I really mean this. I am 33 years old who has 9 years of work experience which spreads across multiple disciplines - BPO, Oil& Gas, Product Manager in a product company& IT Services(which I believe is something that stands out in my resume) 😉 . Now, if I go back and recollect my GPA, I have a 3 in 10th and 2 in 12th; better not to mention my graduation 😞
I have never thought that an MBA is this necessary to cruise in my career, but now I do understand the necessity of one in your resume. And, it doesn't mean that I need an MBA to cite in my resume, instead I need it to move up the ladder in my career and ofcourse for recognition among the employers. So, let me summarize what I need:
[*] I am in the IT Services& looking forward to move to Consulting/ FMCG, OR
[*] I am looking forward to move to a Sales role within IT Services, though I prefer the previous option over this.
[*] Be a key decision maker/ master strategist for an IT Services/ Product company.
Keeping the above in my mind, I am working towards:
[*] enrolling myself into a world class business school
[*] gaining 720+ in the GMAT, but I might be able to hardly get 700. That's the most I think I can get.
Now, what I appreciate from the consultant is:
[*] Am I late to do an executive MBA? I am married and have a one year old kid. 😛
[*] Do my GPA's pose a barrier for my carrier aspirations? Don't I even get a chance in world class biz schools even if I perform well in GMAT? If my GMAT score could change the fate, what should be a good GMAT score?
[*] Do you suggest me to go for an MBA in India or abroad? And why?
Appreciate your response to these questions and looking forward to hearing from you.
Thanks,
Abhi.
