Great post Vikas!
Congratulations to Babson for being ranked #1 in entrepreneurship for 18 consecutive years by U.S. News & World Report.
Cheers,
Conrad and the Stacy Blackman Team
Thank you Stacy.
Hi Vikas I am planning to apply for the 1 Yr. Mba starting May 12. Just wanted to know what are the job opportunites after the 1 Yr. course.
Hey,
Have you already applied? Let me know your specific doubts please.
Best,
Vikas
Vickzz,
Pardon me, for I haven't done due diligence regarding the college. But I just wanted to know
1) how being ranked #1 in entrepreneurship for 18 consecutive years has impacted you until now.
2) in what ways does a college reputed to be the best in entrepreneurship differentiate itself from the other great colleges that stress on entrepreneurship too?
3) does it make sense to reason that it is unfair to assess the merits of this college in terms of employment stats 3 months after graduation (since a considerable % of the population focus on entrepreneurship and their startups)?
Cheers!
Hey,
Am glad you thought of these points, same were my apprehensions before I joined Babson too and here is what I found:
Entrepreneurship at Babson is not just about starting a business but learning to manage things on your own, responsibly. Being number#1 in Entrepreneurship helps me set apart from the cluster of students from other colleges that surround the area. Babson enjoys a repute in New England, infact it enjoys over 90% awareness in New England which is much more than colleges you will see around you.
Babson college, thanks to its reputation of being no.1 in entrepreneurship gets attention from several financial institutions, VCs and investors. We have an entrepreneurship cell called Arthur M. Blank Center for Entrepreneurship(Named after the founder of Home Depot, a Babson alum) which is dedicated to help students develop their ideas. We hold rocket pitches regularly which are attended by several investors and most of ideas germinated in Babson do see light of the day.
Further, Babson offer several electives that help students learn entrepreneurship. For instance, a course called Product design and development, which is only offered by Babson in New England area allows students to work with existing companies to develop a creative product from scratch. Engineers from Olin School also help students in the course to help manufacture.
Our professors are all full time professors, unlike many B schools in vicinity and they carry with them rich experience. Almost all of our professors have achieved tremendous success in their respective fields. I would seriously encourage you to explore profiles of a few of our professors, I am attaching a few of them below:
Anirudh Dhebar Faculty Profiles | Babson College
Edward P. Marram Faculty Profiles Babson College
Kevin Mulvaney Faculty Profiles Babson College
Srinivasa U. Rangan | Faculty Profiles Babson College
Hope this helps, let me know if I can be of further help 😃

Hi,
I recently received an email from an Admissions Director at Babson to consider switching to 1 year program as compared to the 2 year which I had initially applied for.
Reason being i have an undergraduate major in Business from a canadian b school
Could you please tell me how does career services work for 1 year students?
whats the rigor quotient in the one year program? how difficult is it to manage the courses, networking exercise and landing up a job?
is there room for internships in the 1 year program?
My profile:
2 years Debt Fund Management - BlackRock Inc. India
1 year Invesment banking - MAPE Advisory group (boutique inv bank)
1 year - adventure sports & corporate training - Proboscis (partner, equity stake)
please let me know if i can connect with you on your personal mail id, Babson is extremely high on priority for me. I would wnat to evaluate the one year program and then take a decision.

Hi Ron,
Career services for both 1 year and 2 year are the same and so is the course curriculum. The difference only is that the first year of 2 Yr MBA is intensified in 3 months of summer into 15 credits. After summer, i.e. in fall and spring semester 1 Yr MBA students take electives with 2nd year 2 YR MBAs, basically no difference.
The good part of 1 YR MBA is its intensity, cost effectiveness, small batch, less loss of opportunity cost because you only stop working for a year and of course lesser fee. The dark side of 1 Yr MBA is a year less of networking when compared to 2 YR MBAs and no internship opportunity.
Hope I answered all your questions, feel free to ask any further question you might have.
Best,
Vikas
Thanks Vikas,
