Simba,
I am game to this idea - but what kind of newsletter are you looking for? What is the audience - the point behind my question being - people will generally chip in with suggestions and stuff - of what to do and what not to do when visiting that particular place. Now - something tells me - this is not the kind of info you are looking for.
Cheers!

Good that u revived this thread Puneet....never knew it existed....i Luv to travel to new places too.....
most of my Fav places are in my home state - Kerala.....
Munnar - The best place if u want to have a healthy peaceful sleep.....nothing much for sightseeing, but amazing weather and if u r staying at the High Range Club there, u can get a taste of British Cuisine as well(I had the famous Wimbeldon strawberry and cream here)
Athirampally and Vazhachaal waterfalls - Amazingly scenic places with some really neat natural picnic spots with small streams and all.....great place for a one day trip out with your family or friends.
Cochin - My hometown...hoping to go and settle down here one day....a thriving city but has somehow reatined naturality so far....God knows how long before it too becomes a totally concrete jungle....
Wayanad district - Undoubtedly one of the most serene and green places I have ever seen....lotsa places to sightsee, trek, explore and this place has amazing weather too(its a hilly area)....
Hoping to visit northeren india too....some amazing places i am hoping to see are shilma, manali, nainital and leh.....also I wanted to know if anyone has been to Mt.Abu....i was in Gujarat for 3 years when i cud have visited this place but unfortunately never got the opportunity....

Has anybody here been to Cherrapunji, Meghalaya
Amazing, absolutely breathtaking 😛
Sunny one moment, fog the next moment and before you realize rain and just as quickly it clears up and lo... Sun again. You can expereience 4 different weathers in a matter of 15 minutes
You need to put up the base camp at Shillong and take a cab for a day long visit to this place. Also, just as you come to the end of the mountain ranges at cherrapunji, you would see the Bangladeshi plains flooded with water.
Do you know, that Cherrapunji faces water shortage in the summer
This is because all the water flows down the hills and floods Bangladesh
P.S. : The north-east part of our country is like a hidden treasure. it is appaling to see the government of india not promoting these places as tourist destination
well guys
i think nainital is one the best places in india to visit and apart from other places i can never forget the first sight of TAJ...... 😁 its beautiful man if u havent gon there make sure its next on ur list.
well i hav been to the taj n really loved it--two times hav i visited it and each time i was enthralled by tis beauty-though agra administration can surely manage the outskirts(of the taj) better!!!
N wayz-has anyone amongst u peps been to see the taj in the moonlight according to the new scheme of the government???
I Just pray to god that the supreme court remains alert as ever and politicians like mayawati keep their hands of this marvel!!!
Amen

Chandigarh is a good place if u consider the planning and cleanliness.
Then Hardwar is a good place to visit anytime rd. the yr.
And of course Dehradun is the best.

well me too went to admire its beauty..but all i can remember now is taj jumping up and down.... 😁
well it was in mid june..and the tempearture was what u can call scorching..the marble was white hot..there was this plastic mat kinda thing which was laid down so that tourists dont tread on hot marble..but the mat itself was close to melting...all i could do was keep jumping again and again to sooth my tender feet from the virtual frying pan..
can anybody tell me good places nearby mysore to visit....
if u are looking for a getaway , goa is the place to be
I dont have the words to describe it. I have visited goa 2 times (just came back from second trip), but it never ceases to amaze me. Guys take my word , there is no place in India better than Goa. (Untill and unless u hate sea) . U will find peace , hungama , calmness, party, soltitude , mob all in one place. Dance and enjoy as hell at the nightclub called Titos in Bagha and when u r tired and want some peace, just walk 100 metres , u will see a drastic transformation from the extremely high decibels party music to soothing and lovely sound of waves hitting the beach .
Talking of adventure...... just take a bike on rent along with ur friends and zoom off to explore the serenity and the beauty of the countryside. With hills on the right and beautiful churches in left ,its very hard to fix your eyes on the highway to drive. It isn not needed either, with so less traffic on highways u can simply drive on and on without looking towards the road. Travelling to different beaches by asking their routes by the locales becomes a adventure in itself, esp when you are travelling in night and no one is there to tell u the way. It really becomes a kind of LR exercise , with no clue at all.
Well i wont forget the night when me and my friends were coming back to hotel (at bagha) after spending the day at Colva beach. Just as we hit the highway , one of the three bikes we rented broke down. Although it was only 9 in the night, but believe me ,it becomes hell frightening , when you are stranded in middle of a highway with a broken bike , in an alien land, pitch black, no idea where we would find the nearest town ,and you still have to cover 50 km before you could reach your hotel. Thankfully we managed to make the bike run somehow, reached the nearest town of Margoa about 7 km from there and somehow managed to find someone who got the bike repaired at that hour of the night. Travelling to isolated places like anjuna and vagataur beach thru the short cuts made only for bike was icing on the cake.
Yes i am dead sure goa is the best place to go esp when you are with ur friends or with GF/BF. I have just visited goa for the second time and still i am itching to plan my next trip to goa. These trips to goa will remain etched in my memory for long time to come
PS: Apart from goa being a lovely place , it is also very safe. Unlike Delhi U wont find vagabond trying to trouble u ar fleece you when you are walking with your gal at the midnight
pleasepost about the different must visit places in India

it's kashmir..for me ...just too damn beautiful..i'd gone with my family during '99..just before the kargil war broke out...srinagar..pehelgam(just like a picture postcard)..sonmarg..gulmarg...the dal lakeand the house boats...just beyond description..plus the slight tension that exists because of the kashmir insurgency adds to the beauty..
the ppl were very friendly ..so were few of the soldiers we had met and talked to..
i had visited many hillstations before this ...but they just don't compare with kashmir..
I am sure I would have said Kashmir had I visited it.
I have been to all major places in Uttaranchal, Himachal, South(barring kerala which I think is majestic)
I so far haven't seen a place better than Dharamsala which is in Kangra valley in Himachal. It rocks!

well for me goa for sea side and shimla for hill stations....
the very dissappointing thing abt shimla is that it's getting terribly polluted....the worst r the trucks and buses which emit so much black smoke....the moment u peak out ur head form ur vehical for fresh air u r greeted with smoke from the bus ahead of u.
otherwise kufri, the president house et all are lovely...........u feel like getting lost in the valleys.
went to goa ages ago in a school trip.....but dying to go there as soon as i get time.
has ne one been to mussoorie?

Totally agree..loads of tourist along with the greedy hoteliers n other bizmen hav turned my capital into a polluted hellhoal..To quote an example
In summer timethere is water sacarcity as most of ground water is used up by the big hotels with their huge tube-wells n gigantic pumps ...But atleast the mall n places like jakhu n kufri are away frm all these smokes..guys if u come to shimla do go to narkanda--it is quite near to shimla and much better scenic beauty all that.
As far as mussorie thingy is conc banda dehradun main rahta hai hav been to this place umpteen no of times but this has also started facing probs along the lines of Shimla..still camptee falls, the temple on the way to mussorie(on rajpur-mussorie road) n the trollie are worth visiting..scenic beauty there is in buckets-full.
cheerz
