[Beta] PaGaLGuY gets a brand new Homepage!

hi nice 2 see a new pagalguy homepage....great work done pg-admins...well but tgere are few shortcomings:nono:(in my view) that i would like to share...

1.there is no my account link to view subscription and other account details..:shocked:
2.a new tab opens up on clicking recent post link on homepage...i preferred d old way where d page opens up in the same tab.
3.the recent post column was better on the left side of d page...actually m used to it..:splat:

anyways its really good to see a new PG avatar.:w00t::-P

Great look , much compact and it looks modern, though I couldn't find the My account link on the home page , i hope they place this link beside the one where our user name is placed

Just had a little idea, so putting it up here.

On this page, I can see two horizontal bars with numerous links for easy navigation. If we can include the lower bar which has these links - my account, forum rules, community, calendar, quick links etc. on the home page, it will resolve issues related to account opening from the home page and also make for easy navigation for the registered users. Maybe there have to be some changes in the bar for putting it up on the homepage so that we don't have the same link two times on the homepage.

Please see if this idea is any good @ PGHQ.

People who've mentioned that a side scroll is missing , can you please take a snapshot and send it over to help us understand the exact problem.

2. i liked the old look more because it was easy to navigate , moreover my account feature was awesome which is missing in new version ..........

pls. make it an option to switch to old version and add my account feature to new version .......

3.moreover the right part of homepage , containing poll etc. is hindered by my 800x600 screen , cannot we switch the screen type or have left right scroll bar ?????

looking forward to speedy removal of problems

1) Account is now on the home page. Take a look
2) You should really consider upgrading the resolution. The prev. version was designed for 800 x 600 screen resolutions, but we won't be supporting it anymore as the majority of the users have moved over to higher resolutions.

the new look has a more contemporary feel to it..

def. change is inevitable part of evolution..and this was def.. due for the pagals..

i 'm not going much into the crical analysis part..let's get acquainted for a few days..frst

but the important thing which i found is the homepage has bcum more faster..,light on eyes, and lots of submenus to help u out..( this is definitely a credible shot )

"Lean" is the buzzword thesedays everywhere, be it corporates with their strategies, or health awareness in people (events like sunfeast world 10k)

The new home page UI has a fresh, lean look -> d first impression..

Swell look ! Choice of colors and font make readability a pleasure !

I like the tight integration with the forums. Just one point...I kinda felt there's one too many threads in column two....Is it possible to break that column into threads from the forum and recent portal content?

Still testing, ad units to be done as well. Just working out better ways to present the content. We will cut that list down to size and replace with other content soon 😃

Ok.. Here goes..

The site is DEFINITELY more readable
BUT - The site suddenly looks like it is been stripped off of all the content it had
The OLDER look made it look a lot more content-rich
But maybe also a little CLUTTERED
There is a thin-line between making a website look CONTENT-HEAVY and NOT CLUTTERED UP
The NEW look is definitely BARE (on content) and a little TOO NEAT..
It could possibly make sense to CLUTTER it up a little bit... It is PAGALGUY after all!

Good job nonetheless.. 😃 ... But PLEASE take my comments seriously!

Well, I'm not a very frequent visitor to the PG homepage, I log in directly to my accounts page but having a look at the new version, it certainly feels very neat and much well organized than the previous version. As almost everyone mentioned, pretty neat 😃 So a thumbs up from me

New appearance looks good. Provides better readability and access to different features of PG. Hats off to PG TEAM!!! :clap:
one suggestion ::::: Enable PG site to work with other browsers such as firefox, safari, opera, etc. This way it would not put off the users (who dont like IE, users like ME

) from logging on to PG. It should not be in such a way that users hv to bring up IE exclusively to access PG.

Are there any issues with other browsers? We actually had a tough time to get it to work in IE and it should work well in the other browsers
