Are there any issues with other browsers? We actually had a tough time to get it to work in IE and it should work well in the other browsers

I found out a couple of irregularities in firefox (ver: 3.5). Please note:
1. when we bring up the forums, the background has a sorry page.
2. in the forums, we don't see the dropdowns for search, quicklinks and community as we see in IE.
Hope we can get these issues resolved. :thumbsup:

one suggestion ::::: Enable PG site to work with other browsers such as firefox, safari, opera, etc. This way it would not put off the users (who dont like IE, users like ME ) from logging on to PG. It should not be in such a way that users hv to bring up IE exclusively to access PG.

I have never been here on any browser other than Mozilla Firefox and trust me it works extremely well without any issues whatsoever.
@ enterthedragon, please recheck it in MF once and you will know!! Maybe there are other issues!

Edit after enterthedragon's post above : Strangely enough, both these problems have never been encountered by me!!

Hmmmm.... in such case, i guess it might be the system specific problem that i am facing :banghead: . I will try to get it resolved by changing settings in firefox.

Agree with AFC, I too use FF/Chrome for browsing PG. Try deleting cache files/history and then retry again 😃 ATB

I found the new homepage a lot better and easier to use. Good job PG team.But i am unable to see smileys and other animations on my page. I see a cross in place of smileys..

I think if you could shift the left column 3 pixels to the right and then the whole top part 5 pixels up and then greate a gap of 7 pixels between the centre and right column and then increase the width of the centre column by 4 pixels and then change the background to red and then use comic sans instead of Arial/Helvetica and.....
Jokes apart, the page looks great! :thumbsup:

One feature that I dislike with the new look is in the recent commented posts section displayed on the homepage. When you click on any post, it doesnt takes u to the last page where the recent comment was made. Rather it takes u to pages earlier than the one which u wish to view. Is this a strategy to retain the user for longer duration on PG and get some adclicks in the process, thus earning mollah?? Its really annoying from the user perspective.

Personally i dont it has anything to do with moolah. It just some bug. Facing the same issue, but not always. Mods, kindly have a look at it.

Not really - this bug has evaded us for years now. No ulterior motives there because if the user is angry at us, there is no reason for them to click on anything on the site.

To be very honest.........Older Version of Home Page was much pleasing to eyes............
The Section "News from B-schools" Is not there.Although "Event Calender is there"..but its not sufficient of its own.The "News from B-Schools" displayed latest news about B-Schools like placement news,Or any other promising achievements.

I hope this notable omission from previous homepage will be taken care off.

It was the year 2005 when I first passed by PG , was searching a place on web where I can find something relevant found PG it was love at first sight!!!!! Visited as visitors for a long finally joined as a member
Love was so strong that I preferred appreciating the beauty rather talking to her (U can see the count of my posts).
There used to be discussion on vague but relevant topics and some best brains used to shower gyan merely by posting, there were members whose one liners were heavier than entire thread (who can forget Desi_guru & others).
But times been changed such discussions are not appreciated any more nor such peoples are (I am not advocating any of them, most of them have crossed their limits at-times by misusing freedom of speech)
The look and the feel of PG was completely different then "the classic look" I loved that but then it was changed now again it is changed , I know the script has to be changed in order to accommodate heavy ads and I cant blame that since I am using this for free and no free lunches my boy so this is the price .
My only request is cant we have the good old looks ???
Let me explain how.
If we give each user customize its own page the way we do on igoogle, if this is not possible than at least choosing color as on orkut.
So the various concerns can be resolved by merely giving user the flexibility of choosing the color and the arrangement of various section (which are decided by PGHQ to be there on homepage) the arrangement I am talking about can be managed by drag & drop facility.
Well the post cant be complete without thanking Allwyn the "PG", thanks for everything.
P.S. Sorry for the post a bit offtrack just got nostalgic.

I like some of of the new changes, but the the reply all and weird sort feature is really annoying

  • Sort to newest first: Almost all forums have been active from last 2-3 years, seeing this info as you log in makes no sense
  • Replies restricted to one post: Replies make no sense once you take out the context of the original post, and having all replies flooding the forum makes a terrible user experience

@pagalguy at what point do you agree that this was a massive failure and go back? There’s zero traction post CAT. Dead platform.

@pagalguy If we haven’t viewed a page in a long time then we have to scroll all the way down across hundreds of posts. Please go back to previous UI, this has been a massive failure evident by the traffic after CAT. This UI is weird, dms look like posts, replies are scattered. It will only discourage people from coming here.
PG helped me get a sense of MBA world so much last year. Please don’t take that away from other people.
