Hey aqua gal... 😃

Hmm... am bad in MATH.. too....SAME PINCH.. 😃 .. but can tell u one thing from whatever lil have understood from this CAT game... just start working on whatever u have.. there lies the TRUTH.. orelse u will be busy collecting books & before u know it... BAMMM.. theres October... so, try to finish up all the BRM & start looking for some books after this... but if u are already there... well.. Sorry... move ahead & lets wait for ppl to reply!!! 😃

Cheers!!

hi A_G
u can refer the book on "Quicker maths" by M.tyra.
its a good book for short-cuts n practice..better than shri aggarwal

OP Sinhal's ICSE Maths Text Book may help u too

And probably more books would be suggested in later posts... But I tell you... if you practice *all* the problems in IMS BRMs and understand them all well, then you probably won't need anything else. Just concentrate on maximising your score and increasing the speed - which comes by practice.

I personally feel Tyra complicates things a bit too much. For each and every problem, he gives a "shortcut" and a "formula", mugging them up and remembering them is a bit difficult. Of course this is my personal feeling. There are certain chapter that have good explanations too. But nothing compared to IMS BRMs.

May be I am biased.

Could give me the exact title and name of the Publisher of the Tyra book??

Title - Magical Book on Quicker Maths
Author - M.Tyra (of course!)
Publisher - BSC Publishing Co. Pvt. Ltd., C-37 Ganesh Nagar, Pandav Nagar Complex, Delhi - 110092
Phone No. - 2210510, 2040669
website - www.bsccareer.com (duh! it works)
Punchlines -
1.Miraculous for Competitions, Stimulating for General Use
2.The Undisputed Bestseller (duh!)
3.An Indispensable Book for Every Aspirant

try vedic mathematics (multiplication part)
and also arun sharma (tmh publications)

IMS BRMs and Agarwal is sufficient....as someone rightly said, a larger no. of books from varied authors aint gonna have a proportionate increase in ur scores....better to stick to couple of em and do stick on like a sticky..hard and fast !!...Agarwal btb is real good for Equations/Series/Perm and Comb/Inequalities (this is REAL good)/ Logarithms...and dont get scared by the "IIT maths" title..it aint so scary inside !! 😛

Guy's TYRA magical Book for Maths is of no use for US(CAT-Taker) It for Bank PO

hey yes nawabs is right........this is not cat standard and i wasted some money on it....

get hold of something else...use the internet properly...subsribe to a lot of math forums.....

Yeah Sunil.....U won't find Guha's book with the Book Sellers at Fountain......They only Stock R.S.Agarwal

I wud suggest try some big book stores near Colleges.....Mos of them should have it and if not ask them to order it.....most of them shud be willing to do it.

Exact Name--> Quantitative Aptitude For MBA Entrance Examinations- Abhijit Guha
Publisher's Name is TMH-->Tata McGraw Hill

Just be careful...there are 2 versions of Guha's book......Get the one fore MBA Entrances...this one contains sections on DI, DS, LR etc while the other one is strictly maths.

There are basically 2 books which r famous (under Rs Agrawal caption)...RS Agrawal for verbal and non verbal reasoning...This books consists of logical reasoning questions...and 2nd one..RS Agrawal for quantitative aptitude...this covers entire quant part but still i feel level of difficulty in this book is not at par wat cat demands...u can refer dis book for other competitive exams like nmat,snap,cet.....this is my opinion...correct me if m wrong

puys,

u can buy the quant books by Guha and y Trishna at www.flipkart.com

this site also gives u 10-20 % discount...
