Hi,
I would like to know what all books to study for QA, DI-LR, VA.
For Quant, kindly suggest any book other than Arun Sharma (I have already been through that, plus it has no explanations at all), how is Abhijit Guha and Trishna's compared to Arun Sharma? Do suggest any other book.
For DI, again I have Arun Sharma but it is inadequate when it comes to the recent CAT trend, e.g. the DI section is purely graph and diffilcult calculation oriented, while LR section is very small. It seems outdated.
For VA, I have no books at all.
Kindly suggest and help. :unhappy:

trishna's QA is a good book. You can go for it.

hi, nikhilsobti I have been using the quant book of trishna it is a very good book .......and it has lots of practice exercises.so u can look for it.......and of DI try to collect the study mat of time it will help a lot.......nd for va......... grammar......... wren and martin......wordlists by time/barron.....

you can look up the official GMAT guide for preparing the sentence sorrection part of VA. For the grammar part look up Wren and Martin.

1) I have taken TIME corr. and have started doing its material.i heard that trishna's quatitaive ability book is also good.kindly suggest should i purchase that book also or is it the same as we get in TIME material.

2) I saw the books for gmat..like kaplan..and it seemed pretty good esp for VA.all critical reasoning and sentence corr.etc....but i also heard that VA for GMAT is very high level than CAT.kindly suggest if i shld go for the book or is TIME material sufficient.

My two cents for your queries

1) As you already have the TIME material with you, I would suggest you to first complete that material with thorough understanding 😃 If after completing the material you want some extra material for practice then you can go for the Trishna's Quant book

Also the concepts covered in the Trishna's is more or less the same as that in the TIME material but with many questions with different level of difficulties.

2) If we see the last 2 years CAT paper, we can clearly see the trend of CAT being moving towards GMAT VA/RC sections with more emphasis on logical reasoning in the questions. So if you are over with your TIME material (VA/RC) then for more practice you can go for those GMAT books. :D

Hi manish,

I am also reading quantum cat.Its really good book.Just brush up your fundas and solve L1 & L2 problems.It is more than sufficient. Do join test series of TIME/IMS.

You can also go for the Quants book by Nishit K Sinha from Pearsons publications

hi,
now a days i am solving "Quantitative ability" by Trishna publication.Its a book written by TIME faculties.I found it very good and useful.each chapter in this book is divided in three parts 75-75-30 questions in different sections respectively.First section is to clear fundamentals, 2nd part is to apply fundamental and practice for speed and third part have some really tough questions.I would recommend this book.
