hi , i have written 5 Major MBA exams this year..I am awaiting the final results of IIT DELHI and IIT kharagpur -VGSOm...I would like to share some of the GYAAN i got while preparing for 18 months...
here are some of the books taht might prove helpful....
VOCAB: 1.norman lewis 2.IMS material wordlist- BRM 3.barron's wordlists.
For RC try reading as many novels as you can and make note of the tough words in them.In fact books by DAN brown has many words that come in BARRONS........try improving the reading speed to about 350 wpm......
QUANTS: 1.arun sharma 2.Trishna's book by TIME
DI: 1.arun sharma has a book for DI as well with lots of exercises.....
GK: 1.try reading the newspapaers. i know thats not easy .... 2.TIME AND IMS have their respective magazines with about 100 GK questions each ,onth GK proves helpful only for exams like IIFT,SNAP and MAT .......but GK is a scoring area where one can boost speed too...
ok all the best try doing the material of TIME and IMS... i might join u guys in the prep if i dont convert.... i have shared what i knew....
we can start a thread for shortcuts too. i have a list of 60-70 shortcuts .. i can post them if needed karthik
I need the following info from you: 1. Whats the name of the Quants book by Arun Sharma ? 2. Whats the name of the DI book by Arun Sharma ?
I am planning to buy Shakuntala Devi's "Puzzles to Puzzle You" for LR, "Verbal and Non-verbal Reasoning" by R S Agarwal also.
Do you think i should go for "How to Prepare for CAT" by TMH also ?
hey guys..i have started preparing from RS Agarwal for maths..its a great book for ppl who have probably not been in touch with maths for a loonnnnnnng time a.k.a. ME!!!! so u might wanna go through it..and at best, PLZ PLZ PLZ follow JUST ONE BOOK..no need to confuse yourself!!!!
Wat has gained importance in recent CAT exams is "Reasoning" and I don't find any book with Qs that are at par with the CAT Qs..Can anyone suggest on any book that can really help.
Moreover, I believe I think CL has a good stock of GK questions and word list of "Baron" can be a real help in cracking vocabs in the Management entrance exams...
Regarding Arun Sharma, the solutions are really obsiquos that really pisses me off when I cannot find an answer to the Qs.
I think Think Without Ink is the best book for quant. Saw that book being mentioned somewhere in PG a week before CAT. Got hold of that book and my quant performance took a quantum jump in CAT in just a week's time.
hi i have solved arun sharma.and i dont think we need to go for level 3 for chapters other than number sys and probablity algebra.we can discuss solutions here.yaar tell me name of book of di by arun sharma i havent heard of it is it good.?
