Hey can anyone suggest me a book for Vedic Mathematics.

theres a book by some maharishi which is the best.. but better than that theres a thread on Vedic Maths on PG which i found very useful.. chk that out..
The Raven Says
I think Think Without Ink is the best book for quant. Saw that book being mentioned somewhere in PG a week before CAT. Got hold of that book and my quant performance took a quantum jump in CAT in just a week's time.

could you please tell me more about the book.. like the author, publisher etc..

i follow a book called Trachtenberg Speed System of Basic Mathematics and i think it is very good

It`s very right book to go for vedic mathematics. But secondly as i can say to you with my experience, vedic mathematics take toooo much time to understand but it`s also truth ones you understand then it`s very easy to cover all topics in the mathematics.

How else do u propose to go for quant? Conventional Maths is not the answer..

If you have only six months to prepair for your MBA particularly, then it`s not good idea to wend for vedic mathematics as i mentioned that it`s take time to understand ,i think one year plannig for vedic mat would be good idea..

Your notion plz...........

My experience says, that it would take around 7-10 days to learn the concepts, but u need to revise the concepts , periodically. Trust me buddy, 6 months are more than enuf, if u revise them.. and apply the concepts to all ur problems. If u have any doubts, u r welcome to PM me any time.

Regards,
Gaurav

Dear gaurav..It`s your particular view,i cant arugue on that...But as i think,it`s not possible to understand concepts of vedic maths in just 7 to 10 days. But if u did already then i should appriciate your suggestion with adding one sentence.it`s vary person to person.

Hi yash,
what i meant was very clear.. All the coaching institutes give u around 8-9 mnths for preparation and during which time, u learn how to use vedic maths as an integral part of ur system. It might be ur view to use conventional maths, but as a mass... Vedic maths is preferred for calculations, for the simple reason being, that it saves times, which conventional maths cant and if u regularly practice, u just need a couple of months to master it.

p.s. pl do check ur posts after posting and ensure to have quoted the message correctly. Thanks

:D lolz thanks dude! (or dudette?.. πŸ˜ƒ )

Well i went through the IMS BRM and yes! i feel it is good for warm-up.. But after wards, u must check for other books too!

i'm not sure about Arun Sharma, but i have heard it is a good book. I would prefer selective study from TIME+IMS material so that u can enjoy the benefits of both.

Let me know, if u need anything else.

Gaurav

i think that should suffice. There're basically 7-8 different types in DI and u just have to classify and practice upon them.

For quants R D Sharma is a good book, try that

hi!
has anybody here have tried the following books:
1) Think, but without ink
2) Quants book by R.D. Sharma

thanks
Regards,
cat_banda

ya r.d sharma is good ............but for quanta ARUN SHARMA is best.

hi ,
i have written 5 Major MBA exams this year..I am awaiting the final results of IIT DELHI and IIT kharagpur -VGSOm...I would like to share some of the GYAAN i got while preparing for 18 months...

here are some of the books taht might prove helpful....

VOCAB:
1.norman lewis
2.IMS material wordlist- BRM
3.barron's wordlists.

For RC try reading as many novels as you can and make note of the tough words in them.In fact books by DAN brown has many words that come in BARRONS........try improving the reading speed to about 350 wpm......

QUANTS:
1.arun sharma
2.Trishna's book by TIME

DI:
1.arun sharma has a book for DI as well with lots of exercises.....

GK:
1.try reading the newspapaers. i know thats not easy ....
2.TIME AND IMS have their respective magazines with about 100 GK questions each ,onth
GK proves helpful only for exams like IIFT,SNAP and MAT .......but GK is a scoring area where one can boost speed too...

ok all the best
try doing the material of TIME and IMS... i might join u guys in the prep if i dont convert....
i have shared what i knew....

we can start a thread for shortcuts too. i have a list of 60-70 shortcuts .. i can post them if needed
karthik

hi can u post the short cut pls do if u can

hi guys
can sumbdy help me regardin which test series to join....
