i need explanation and answers of the questions...so accordingly please suggest...
for english : which book to go for revising basic grammar concepts ? apart from wren and martin... is there any sectional book from TIME/IMS providing grammar-sentence correction-word list ?

Arun Sharma is excellent to start with. But the solutions are not given or are not adequate in some cases. I am also facing the same problems while solving. There is a separate thread for Arun Sharma running here in PG. I am not aware of whether it is active now or not.
Maybe, we can do one thing. Look for answers in the thread or post our questions there. Our members might answer it or we can ourselves give our solutions there.

As far as the sentence correction and the grammar goes, good explanation is given by sectional books from IMS. Not sure of the ones from TIME.
Cards from TIME give good amount of word lists. Same goes for the separate book from IMS for word lists. Hope this info helps you.
In the quantitative section in the forum page of PG, there is a thread called quants by arun sharma where some of our doubts are answered. do have a look there. if the question in doubt is not present,do try posting there. I found some of the explanations really useful.

Test series from IMS, TIME and Career Launcher have been equally competent and good. But, since the scenario this time is a bit different because of the on-line pattern, it would be wise to choose the institute which gives atleast a few tests online, the major reason being you cannot skip any topic while preparing since in the on line pattern, you cannot proceed to the next question without answering the previous question, which was not the case in the paper based test pattern so far.
A lot of test papers are available on-line which can be used to give tests.

Arihant book on DI & LR
hey dude,i havent seen the book by Disha....but yeah i have seen Arihant book on DI/LR by Nishith sinha i guess......i dont think it is a very good book for CAT coz most of the questions i found in it were only to clear your basic concepts which u can clear by going thru any institutes' classroom material.But still i wud suggest that u go to a book shop and go thru the book for 10-15 min........this way u can understand the level of that Book........

Hey tam,after completing the material of TIME im going thru QA and DI/LR by arun sharma and i found it really interesting.
As far as i am concerned i am going for AIMCAT by TIME.......but u can just check other institutes also.\ as different institute offer different packages and number of tests.
test series for home: u can join many websites which provide free tests where u can analyze yourself.

Dude , Arihant book is not by nishit sinha but by B.S.Sijwali . I guess yu are speaking of some other book. nishit sinha book has brand of pearson publication.

may be coz sometimes in market u find two different books from two different publications but of same writer......
i have not seen Sijwali book.......so no idea abt that....... 😞

i hv only finished my 1st engg. year and hv my vacations....:biggrin:
on the advice of senior puys out here........ i hv...............
1. started working on making reading a habit.
2. started on verbal(except grammar)
3. started out to increase my calculating speed
puys have insisted to keep away from grammar and quant as of now, and follow it in 6th semester:nono:
yesterday, i talked to my father`s colleague who had 88%tile in last cat , she said that all this was ok but i should start to practice logical reasoning and di...... analyzing my speed......because in cat one does not has time.....she is donating me ims material........................(though as of now i am not touching grammar and quant )

its 380 here in bangalore.........i have kundan and pandey book for Quant..........i dont know about if they have any DI book........if u come across their DI book then please do let me know.........
