vamsi22 SaysU can try for Pratiyogita Darpan.. it is a gud one..
I think CSR is the best.Go throught the issues of the last 6-8 months.I would be more than enough for current affairs.
vamsi22 SaysU can try for Pratiyogita Darpan.. it is a gud one..
The book on DI/DS/LR by Nishit Sinha is one of the very good books I came across in DI/LR.It Certainly helped me to achieve very high percentile in CAT.
I Would suggest it to future CAT takers.
According t me as I have appeared for CAT for last 5 yrs.I would suggest the following books for CAT:
1.Quantitative: ArunSharma
2.DI/LR/DS:Nisht Sinha
3.Verbal:ArunSharma
Also you may try John Summers to practice for LR.It wil go a long way to sharpen your analytical skills.
hi,can any one suggest books for verbal and quant
is how to prepare for cat by tmh a gud buk

To start with:
Arun Sharma provides good insight into the basics, formula etc., for both QA and DI/LR
This could be supplemented by TIME/IMS material for QA and DI.
Our official quant thread for CAT 2009 is the best place following the above books.
For verbal:
No book gives us the grip of getting through RCs as we get by reading articles and solving question patterns that have appeared in the past CAT papers.
Experts please correct me if wrong

Hi everyone........i have completed the Material (Quant and DI) provided by TIME and i hv just started Quant by Arun Sharma. Can u suggest me Books for DI preparation as the material provided by TIME only clears the concept and since im a BTECH with strong Maths and aptitude knowledge i didnt find them that tough.
So plz suggest me good books on DI and Quant where i can find different types of Problem and also tricks to solve them fast.I am also planning to join MOCK TEST SERIES. If possible also suggest the best insti where i can enroll only for MOcks.

Dear Harish1711
if u want the more basic concept whic have been explained by examples and the detailed solutions of the practice question, go for Quantum CAT by Servesh kumar
r8 frnd
i also experienced the same difficulty
It Irritates sometimes when u dont have the r8 ans for the cross check
Hi Manitkumar,
Thank you very much.
Dr. Akshar,
As far as arun sharma goes, we can paste the questions for which we do not have detailed explanations or which need clear understanding of concepts. People who are able to explain can reply here so that all of us are benefited out of it.
Gauraw.techi,
For DI/LR and also for quant, after finishing the books from various institutes, it is advisable to start solving papers, plenty of which are available. No better practice is available for DI as such. As for the institutes, since CAT has gone on line, can any one throw light on which institute's test series is the best bet ? Thank you very much in advance
english books
For English,
Any source of RC is fine.
Arun Sharma's VA,
Editorials from various English newspapers,
novels rich in vocabulary,
Wren and Martin books for grammar reference,
Sentence correction exercises
Hey i just bought a quant book by K.Kundan and P.panday. I found it very nice....good questions and also the detailed answers for that.I also bought DI/LR by Arun Sharma (4th edition) which i found very good for CAT preparation.
In the book store i also saw Verbal by Arun sharma and i think its quite good.will purchase it by next month end 😞 .
And yeah i saw book by Nisith sinha,RS Aggarwaal and abhijit guha BUt didnt find them fascinating......coz standard is very low and no description of answers.
But im talking about my choices..may be u will like them too........so my advice that before purchasing any book just go through them a while so that u can understand the level of the questions asked in them........
