Books for CAT preparation

2 option Arun sharma Or Nishit sinha LR/DI.
which one provide with better solution.

I guess you should also solve previous year's mock papers .. they are enough resources in themselves.. and you will get too much variety of questions.

Guys

Can anybody help me with the book required to practice , i.e. the books having extensive Q on each topic . For all the three sections .........

Thanks

is trishna publi gd for quant?

khota_sikka Says
I have quant book called Quantum CAT by survesh kumar really good book. Especially for number system . Large question bank all with answers alternate answers etc.

Hmmm, the book advertises that every year 70-75% questions from CAT appear from it. The authors have also published question bank which was too good. Hope to see more of the book

where did you buy it from??

I'm already using quatam CAT by sarvesh Kumar, its a nice book to get you maths skills strong and got loads of questions with alternative answers as well.

Also, I'm using a book by Nishit Sinha for DI/LR. Although the book is filled with some good questions but there are many typing errors in the books, especially in the answer keys. Otherwise, the book is good.

A QUERY:
Although I'm using sarvesh Kumar for Quant, Is there any other book which can be used in the better sense for SNAP/NMAT as these exams have kind of easy yet challenging questions and you got to have a good speed for these exams. So any book specially for SNAP/NMAT

Yes bro,he LR/DI book by nishit sinha has may error as i am also using it.
More over for Qunta try ARUN SHARMA's book(Lod 1 & 2) for specially SNAP
but i thing the book does not provide with solution.

Yea I saw arun sharma....but solutions are needed..that is the only disadvantage of this book.
Any other book falls in the category of snap/nmat?

THEN GO FOR NISHIT SINHA's QUANTUM BOOK by PEARSON PUBLICATION.IT COINTAIN SOLUTION ALSO.
Hi.
I am hunting for..

"A QA book which has got"..

1.topicwise questions
(i.e.,say the topic is 'sequences in math',then a list of questions on this topic , next if the topic is 'series in math',then likewise a list of ques on it).

2.considerable no. of questions on each topic thereby
(i.e.,quatitatively 50-80 ques..not rigidly so,however).

3.more importantly, ques be such that they progress from being 'basic ones' to being 'CAT level' and be diverse
(i.e.,reasonably covering the concepts of that topic. That there be sufficient, diverse 'CAT level' sums is expected).
4.most importantly, has a proper solution key for each and every ques listed in there
(Is this criteria possible to fulfil?..got dim hopes!)

Thanks in anticipation.

hey guys i am new starter for d prep of cat so plz request all guys to suggest me books n different aspects of d CAT question paper..........plz i hope some one will.......

hii plz send me names of books for maths...........

Hi Puys,

I bought Kundan and Pandey for Quants day before yesterday. I was in a dilemma to choose between Trishna and Pandey. After browsing thru both the books found Kundan's explanation to be far more clear and classified than Trishna. Trishna's is very similar to TIME material but for more exercise problems.

Now my question. I started off with first chapter whgich is numbers (also this has lot of weightage in CAT) but got boggled off by the number of formulae and short cuts given. Also realize these formulae although a pain to mug-up, but once done can be very useful while solving problems with numbers.

Please suggest the right approach to handle number problems/ any other other similar situation.

Hey

Well I have been using Kudan and Pandey and quiet like it. It is very good for anyone who wants to do self study.
Yes, it does have lots of formulas throughout the whole book, so one has to decide which one are worth remembering and which ones can be done without.
Though for number system, it is given better in Arun Sharma with much better variety of questions, so probably get the no. system part copied from arun sharma. for about everything else Kundan Pandey is awesome.. :)
