HI, Does Arun sharma's book contains some explainations of concepts or just questions? I am going to buy this book today, was trying to search the table of contents. Puys please advise.
Regards, Kishlaya
@ Kishlaya Arun Sharma's book is more about getting basic fundas cleared rather then being a question bank. As said by Gurdeesh the (most???) of the questions are not solved so it might be little difficult to find their solution step by step, but you can use it to get the basics solid or you can go in for CBSE IX,X,XI mathematics book for the same & best part is you can download them now free from here: NCERT Text Books Download (Class 1 to 12),how to download ncert textbooks | Career Help & Jobs in Indiabooks-download-class-1-to-12/
As Gurdeesh also mentioned QT by RS Agarwal i got an old edition but check the new edition, RS Agarwal books on QA/QT are good.
Gurdeesh and Sunimar Thank you for your quick responses. I'll go ahead with Arun Sharma. My original plan was to ultimately solve Nishit Sinha for I think your fundamentals should be strong.
Any idea about "mind Bafflers" by George J Summers. I heard that it is a good book for DI.

if you want to clear your concepts go for quantum cat by arihant written by sarvesh verma...that is quite a good book.i would suggest you to buy it first ,solve it and then move to any other book.it's a very helpful book.
iv come accross the name Nishit Sinha a lot on pg... is it really good?
does it have solved or unsolved questions?
Gurdeesh
i dont think n.sinha is that good as a book atleast at the preparatory stage..yes it has solved questions though not all but selected few are solved..and nishit sinha is not recommended for preparation or getting your concepts cleared. after your concepts are cleared and you are more or less thorough with each chpt on quants then only you should move to nishit sinhas book for practise purpose.
need smthing to get d feel of RC......can u plz suggest some books to read on different topics like philosophy, economics, culture....

im really feeling confident in quant after doing 2 chapters from all these books..though so many books arnt required...i agree...

ill post problems from these books on pg in a few days...
best book out of these Quantum Cat by Sarvesh Verma and RS AGGARWAL......
do you have the new edition of arihant's quantum cat....if so then how does the new edition differ from the older one provided you checked the old edition..i have till now not checked the new edition.
Lots of books to choose from but my question/query will be little different then others. I'm a simple commerce grad (most of puys here on PG might be Engineers) i want to ask every1 how a simple grad (not an engineer) should begin his QA prep for CAT??? Starting from basics, this is my plan:
i) Start with class IX,X,XI NCERT mathematics ii) Move then move to other books by RS Agarwal,Arihant,Arun Sharma iii) Solve old CAT,XAT,FMS papers along with AIMCATs,SIMCATs, also question posted on PG.
Books: XI,XII CBSE Books,Mathematics for MBA by RS Agarwal,CA-CPT QT & related books,PT QA study material (2005) & will also be getting the new IX,X NCERT mathematics books. (these are the books i got at the moment but i want to get the basics Rock Solid & its been a while since i read most of CAT QT topics)
Let me know if this is a right strategy as i'm aiming CAT'11...
Can anyone suggest which book is better Arun Sharma or Sarvesh Kumar Verma
both are equally good...i personally prefer sarvesh kumar verma..because of 1. of less errors in solutions 2. detailed solutions to each questions..

sir jee your strategy is rock solid...if you are going to do what you have written...no one can stop you from getting a 100%ile in qa..
yes..start from the basics...and then solve arihant/arun sharma...give mocks and keep analysing them....
