sir jee your strategy is rock solid...if you are going to do what you have written...no one can stop you from getting a 100%ile in qa..
yes..start from the basics...and then solve arihant/arun sharma...give mocks and keep analysing them....
Definitely i'll be sticking to this plan & also going to do the same as i got lot of time for CAT'11. Thank you, but i'm not sure if i'll get 100% in QA all i want to do is clear the requistie cut-off for IIMs so i can cover my poor acads (ie X,Xii). Also can you tell me should i go for Arihant & Arun Sharma & Sarvesh Verma or all 3???? I know that more i practice my chances (probability) of scoring your predicated percentile (100%) will be high Thanks again!!!

bro, arihant and sarvesh verma both are same...in my opinion sarvesh verma is better book to start with..it starts with more basic questions compare to arun sharma...
do you have the new edition of arihant's quantum cat....if so then how does the new edition differ from the older one provided you checked the old edition..i have till now not checked the new edition.
i havnt checked the old edition so i cant compare...but i know this fact tht any or most books have the almost the same qustions in the old nd new editions..

Arun Sharma doesnt have solved questions...which is not a nice thing...
am i supposed to study from IX nd XII books as well??
Thank you again. So along with IX,X,XI NCERT books i can also refer to Survesh Verma, is that right or should i 1st finish NCERT books & then should go for other books???
After reading this thread i have prepare this list of books, that i should finish before or by August next year i) Survesh Verma ii) Arihant iii) RS Agarwal
If any please do add that as well as i believe no book is bad or good, every book give some or the other knowledge & add something to what you already know or don't know. (This is only my own & personal opinion)

i think u should first complete the ncert books but in a month only... then go for other books and yes these 3 books are enough...as these r the best...

Yaar Gurdeesh i'll say that to get your basics crystal clear its always good to go back to your school days ie starting with IX,X,XI only not XII' Maths as it has topics like Calculus,Vector,Co-ordinate Geometry,3D & 2D also which isn't relevant as far as CAT is concerned. But if you are confident that your basics are clear & you can do better without these books then you don't have to refer to NCERT school books, as i'ven't read Maths in a while especially topics like Time Speed Distane, Geometry,Ratoinal NUmbers, LCM,HCF, Polynomials etc & as i'm commerce grad so Maths has been a distant land during grads yes had Stats but that was probability,PnC,AP,GP etc. :| Since i got lot of time so its good to start with basics rather then solving or looking at other books (i'm referring to myself as an individual & not any other person)

Thanks Gurdeesh Bhai but don't you think finishing 3 books ie ix,x,xi in 1 month will be very difficult (we finished it in 3 years in school..Hahahaha just joking ) as i'm aiming for CAT'11. If i finish them completely ie ix,x,xi books by February or late by March wouldn't that be fine??? as finishing in 1 month means i have to do only Maths 24*7 As i got my classes so it'ill be difficult to give so much of time only to Maths but please you can suggest me another plan & i'll be happy to follow that with no complain. (excuse me for my english, woking on it :|)

cut down your list to 2 because sarvesh kumar is the name of author under arihant publications...
hii... i will be giving CAT in 2011 i m doing my TIME coaching packages 4 quant.. what else i should refer 4 quantd
for verbal i am reading the hindu editorials pls suggest a dictionary nd any book which i should read..
thnx:
Parvesh i can suggest for VA part. So you can always get Oxford Dictonary & Thesaurus to to gain more on VA section. Reading Hindu is a good choice you can add 1-2 business/international magazines as well like Newsweek/Frontline/Busniessworld/BusinessToday etc.
As far as reading which book, i'll say check this link from PG
