Hi Neha,
Nikhil has suggested an excellent book on Quant "Quantitative Aptitude For CAT"by K.Kundan & P.pandey, Cats eye Publication. The Book is rounded one when it comes to theory it has been properly discussed to make it comprehensible to every CAT aspirants. The underlying belief is that you can't solve anew problem unless you have got yopur basic right. Thi book bears in mind the latest parameter of selectios. All the 4000 problems are graded according to difficulty level and completwely solved , too. This year it would be the must read book for every CAT aspirants. Thanks Nikhil and Neha.

Also, I think you would find a lot more relevant books if you look into the CAT Prep Materials section.. In any case this thread is for non-prep books... so...! 😛

Hi arsumit,
Since you have been away from maths for long, the best way to brush basics would be to revise from NCERT text books.... these books will help you feel comfortable, there is no need to jump to advanced books, loaded with unnecessary short cuts which will only confuse you at this stage. you can refer to them once you finish the text books. This is the most proper and preferred way to come back to the math circuit.
Go for class 8-12 math books first.

If you want to start with some basic mathematics, then you can search on esnips for the 501 question series. They have a lot of practice questions, though they are elementary level questions. But I'd say that if u have the time and if you want to start with the basics, then these books are good.
can someone send me an invite from the filecather's website..so that i can register there..

my advice, subscribe to a business paper, like et or business line; first 1-2 weeks would be a pain, but things will start making a lot of sense thrid week onwards. incase you are stuck with some financial term or concept, google is always there to solve your targeted query. hope it helps
