When should I start preparing for the CAT Exam?
Ideally, CAT preparation takes around 300 hours to 500 hours of serious preparation. While there is no right time to start preparing for the CAT Exam, it is recommended that a CAT aspirant should start the preparation sometime between Jan-Feb and June-July of the year he or she is planning to appear for CAT. Please understand that regular preparation matters a lot more than the total amount of time invested. What I am trying to say is that if you are studying for 20 hours a week, it is much better if you study for 3 hours a day instead of 10 hours on Saturday and Sunday each. It is the discipline which matters.

Is calculator allowed in the CAT Exam?
Yes – a calculator is allowed in the CAT exam. But this does not mean that you can carry your own calculator in the exam. You will be allowed to use an on-screen calculator.
The on-screen calculator in the CAT Exam will have some basic functions like addition, subtraction, division, and multiplication. It will also have a couple of other functions to make your life easier:
a) Reciprocal button
b) Square root button
Let me add, calculators are not of much use in the CAT exam. One basic problem is that you will need to use the mouse to enter values and it makes your calculations a lot slower than usual. The questions that you get in the CAT exam are based on fundamental concepts and are normally not very calculation intensive.

COMPARISON BETWEEN IIMs
The Indian Institutes of Management (IIMs) are a group of 20 of the top business schools in India. IIM Ahmedabad and IIM Calcutta were the first ones to be established in 1961 whereas IIM Jammu was the latest one to commence operations in 2016. A lot of CAT aspirants dream of going to the IIMs but not all of them understand that all IIMs are not alike.
To understand their differences between the IIMs, it is important that we understand and rate them on a variety of factors. Broadly, the IIMs can be divided into three broad categories as we have mentioned in this article:

How Can You Develop Reading Habit?
Reading a book is like falling in love: It must happen naturally; you cannot force it, and if you do, the relationship develops cracks in no time, and before long, there is a break-up. If you wish to later start afresh, the past memories, opinions, prejudices begin interfere with the present, and the effort to reconcile meets a tragic end.
But…just like true love, reading must ‘happen’ to us at some point in our lives. And there could be no better time than when we prepare for the CAT.
