I have heard of the following certifications in marketing from some people but I cannot comment on the genuineness and the benefits from taking it...still you might wanna do some research on this one:

Product Management Certification @ AIPMM: Association of International Product Marketing and Product Management
This is a product management certification...

Another certification you might wanna check out is: Professional Certified Marketer
Professional Certified Marketer - American Marketing Association

I would request everyone here not to take certifications for the sake of adding bullet points to your CV.Use it for the purpose of gaining knowledge. If that certification has multiple levels, aim for the next one once your clear each level. Those in IT can take up certifications offered by Microsoft,Oracle,Cisco,Sun etc. Six sigma certification,at its basic level (green belt) can be taken up by anyone who is working.

Hi, the certification suggested by finmark seems to solve your purpose, but i would like to advice that one should not decide a specialization without going through all of the options. Means once in the college for a year you will be more informed to take a decision on specializatoin. As you will know how is the faculty and how are you are liking the subjects. Also engg. do good in finance.

hello.. m a B.E.-IT and wntd 2 tke up MMS in SYSTEMS... which certfications shd i undertake?? thnx.

Personal Opinion No.

As far as my opinion, which agrees to the one of experts goes, If you want to actually be in advertising the only thing that helps is starting small.

If you want to do the diploma just for the sake of it then go ahead.
The truth is, No diploma or certificate in marketing can help anyone a lot.

Certifications are generally needed and supplemented mostly for people who want to do specialise further and further in finance.

wht certifications r reqd 4 MMS in SYSTEMS... iv dun SCJP... anythng else recommended?? plz reply... thnx!

Hi. I have recently purchased the Finance and Banking fundamentals training course from Finitiatives Learning India : www.learnwithflip.com after going through almost 200 posts in this thread. I think it is quite good as it gives an entire overview of banking and finance from a sales perspective as well, whereas majority of the other certifications give knowledge about BFS from perspective of finance grads.

There are other courses too.
However, I suggest that you do the background research yourself before making a purchase.

If you want to know about in more detail you can PM me.

Could anyone cite the name of some NGOs in the NCR and kolkata region?
It would be much helpful.I am BTECH (2010 passout).

Anyone has any idea about the MBL(master in Business LAw) offered by NLS?

The mbl will not help you. Its a course for law students who would specialise in corporate law. Please don't do random courses. Please check prerequisite for the course as well.

Also, dont be random in your approach to ngo stuff as well-remember the profs want a well rounded individual who isnt lazy so if one can't say i worked for an ngo (not full time) and did not do my job so it should be given importance.
Have a clear cut intention and reasoning behind why you are joining an ngo-If its just for the CV then you rather utilise yourtime better by doing other things. Check their Ngo's internal working procedure just in case you work for them. See if they are recognized by the government.

I am working with a NGO VIKRAMSHILLA EDUCATIONAL RESOURCE SOCIETY based in kolkata , partner of CRY, good recognition has really done a major impact to the BPL community in the 11 years, I am a maths faculty there . aprt from this I provide spoken english classes , wrting for their magazines , counselling students etc. You can look for this , but NGOs aslo have different functional areas like marketing etc u have to see how u can contribute , yes joining NGO for CV is good but u should have a passion for it .

Thank you very much for mentioning the "passion" part of it :)
Very much appreciated.

Just in case you guys are joining it just for the cv then you much rather not do it. because your interviewer will see it in you and infact negate points rather than just add onto it.
I speak of this with knowledge on the matter. Everyone judges you by what you do where you are and not just by where you are.
