Can u pls tell me are these certifications an alternative for MBA.
I can get into the management stream through these certifications and without an MBA..

Go for CFA (L1,L2,L3) instead of pursuing MBA, it'd provide u with a lucrative profile in terms of grabbing a coveted job.

Can someone please let me know the cost of APICS CPIM and CSCP certification in India? Also, what are the affordable study materials available for these certifications?

Sorry if i am spamming, but i could not find answer to these questions even after some googling.

does anyone has idea on NCFM modules ...
i m interested in doing so... if anyone has done ... can u please PM me the details?

Is there any certification for marketing? I read from this thread, about a lot of certifications related to the field of finance and consulting...
Can anyone shed some light about certifications related to marketing..

CPIM has four modules and can be considered if u dont have any experience. Each module costs u around 12-13k.
On the other hand if u have 2 years of workex then u can write CSCP. Which cost around 46 k.

Hello,

Wanted to know the value of different certifications related to finance available in the market.

I've heard of NCFM, FLIP, CFA and FRM.

Last two are too expensive.

From what I've read in the threads, FLIP is better than NCFM.
Is that so?

Please post your views or thoughts.

Yes CFA & FRM are costly as you said

With regards to Flip and NCFM ,

Flip gives you online coaching material which you cant refer after you are done with the course . NCFM is traditional one with hard copy books

Content wise , I think FLIP is better than NCFM .

Recognition wise , Both are equally good . FLIP takes an edge in many companies as recruiters are aware of FLIP training

So i would recommend a few basic modules in FLIP for starters

To my knowledge i dont think there are any Indian certification for Marketing

Marketing is all about skill set . I dont think one needs to be certified for gaining that skill set .

I would recommend you to visit MarketingProfs: Marketing Resources for Marketing Professionals .

You get plenty of info in this website

Good luck !

Hey all,
I want to do a certification in core finance to build my resume. I want a certification which carries weight. CFA will take too much time. Is there something which can help me in getting a job sooner than later? Banks which came for campus gave relationshp manager or sales profiles. I applied to many companies off campus but they mostly want experienced people. I have taken a couple of NSE certifications but they are not worth a dime in the market.
Please help me.

I would suggest for the FLIP certifications, they're the best in the shortest possible amount of time.

For beginners, the finance and fundamentals combo will give you comprehensive understanding of the basics of banking and financial markets. Although this can be done through NCFM just to build a basic foundation.

The FLIP modules you take would depend upon what you're targetting post MBA :

1. Treasury module & Investment banking module - Treasury module mostly deals with trading currency markets and derivatives, this is especially helpful if you want to get into sales & trading post MBA or if you want to particularly enter treasury for sure.

Am not sure how much the investment banking module will help, although it does give you an understanding of the basics of M&A; and issue management. Add to this a financial modelling course (in excel) and I think it'll be a good value addition.

2. Corporate banking & trade finance- This is helpful post mba too and now also if you're currently looking for a job, banks usually advertise for relationship managers at the most basic level - opening accounts / basic banking products etc. You should ideally be targetting the next level which deals which is the relationship manager who deals with corporate clients and SMEs. There's very little understanding in the market about corporate banking products and trade finance products like LCs,SBLCs. The course structure covers a lot of topics ( Trade Finance & Cash Management Services ) .

Hope this helps!
