Certifications for profile building

Hi all,

Some really useful info on this thread...

I am a DENTIST with two years of work-ex, aspiring to be in the hallowed portals of a good B-school...Have appeared/going to appear for almost all exams this year...My obvious choice post MBA would be Pharma/Healthcare...I am planning to specialize in finance/HR (not very sure which of the two as of now, but it will be definitely one of these two)

Can anyone guide me as to whether there are any good certifications that I can go for, particularly related to my graduation background...As I feel it would be a little odd if I present a certificate in a finance module at the time of my PI (in case I get a chance to appear for one

So, any certifications related to Pharma/Healthcare ??

Since u asked for other domains as well .. and u being from IT ... u can try for the ITIL ITSM foundation certification.

It is a mandatory thing if u plan to enter the services industry and join big names like MS, HP or IBM.

Hi friend,

As i am into HP BSM domain can u please suggest some certification programs that would enhance my overall career persona or else if u provide me with some links!!!

Hi All,

Is there anyone in this forum who is preparing for the CAIA level 1 exam or has already clear it?
I would like to know the material used to prepare for the exam.

Hi All,

I am currently in my final semester of MBA-Finance. I have done B.E. Computers. Can u suggest me any certification courses to improve my credentials? I am already placed as a Business Analyst in an IT firm . Plz suggest some courses which would help me in that role. Most of the BA related certifications I found, needed atleast 1 yr of workex , but I am a fresher.

Thanks

Hey Buddy

Not necessarily.... assuming the fact that if you are just CFA Level 1 then it wont give you much benefits....Level 2 and plus will certainly give you an edge over the others and competitive advantage too....

FRM is an upcoming area in the finance domain and will be in a booming shape due to increase in the derivative market in India and the popularity.... so doing such kind of certifications will add in to your profile but you will be outstanding only when you complete them....

guys is there any exemption from CIIA if we complete CFA from ICFAI?

Let me correct if am getting the certification you want to go for correctly.

It is CIPM conducted by APICS, USA. It has 4 levels and costs around 12.5k per level. It is beneficial for people who wish to build career in Supply Chain/Operations domain.

All the best
Does doing a certification in Unix (Sa-1 and Sa-2) help in any way?

Hello puys!
I have an exp of >3 years in IT services and IT products. Job profile mainly involves coding.I am six sigma greenbelt certified at my Organization.

I want to do an MBA to get into a management role in IT. I am not interested in doing any finance based certificaiton as I don't want to get into financial roles after MBA. I want to know if there is any certification that would add value to my profile and be considered relevant to my goals.

Hi,
I am a B.E graduate in CSE, having work experience of 14 months ins TCS.. Doing MBA was decided by me way back wen i was in school.. hence I opted for Engineering after my +2 thinking that an engineer degree would fetch me a job (immediately) during/after B.E and add to WORK EXP as it is a selection criteria. All went accordingly and now being in TCS seems like "where the hell am I? Is this JOB EXPERIENCE I had planned to take before getting a MBA degree?". So I am saying tata (resign) to TATA. Now,
with so many engineers already around, I feel like "Another brick in the wall". With my area of interest being OPERATIONS, long term career field i would prefer Retail/SCM and also Consulting (10 years down the line after MBA).

Could you please suggest any extra factors (certifications/part-time bt specific field jobs/courses) I can add to my profile before facing GD/PI so that it makes me stand out of those "bricks" ???

Hello friends I am looking to buy CSCP prepration material & I am going for it in june 2012 . Please guide me where can i buy it from india at a cheap rate than what is available at APICS.

do these certifications if u're interested in financial markets.. these don't require much money, and study materials are also available in their website.. but honestly speaking, these certifications are much easier compared to CFA, FRM etc.

Are there any certifications that a fresh engineer should obtain just to strengthen his candidature for a prominent B-school?
