Advice relating to courses after MBA Operations(Pune Uni) 2011 passout 62.4 % so that i can i smeway get my career n life back on track .

Something on which area you're looking/interested to certify in? I guess I was not clear on that earlier!

So rather than thinking of doing "something" for the sake of it, do something in an area of interest for you. Say you're BE (Prod.) and MBA Operations. So if you're looking for something in that stream itself then some options are:
1. CPIM/CSCP by APICS
2. Six Sigma by any reputed organizations like KPMG etc.
3. CTL by AST&L;
4. PMP by Project Management Institute

So which one out of the above depends on which career path you're interested in! Do a Google search and you can get the brochures and basic info for all of them!

Hope that helps! :cheerio:

I guess that's the mandatory classroom training that one needs to attend for 4 days. After that one has to take up the certification exam, the fees for which is included along with the training fees and the exam can be given immediately. Just confirm once more about this at the email ID mentioned. We had contacted KPMG for a bulk deal at our institute (which didn't work out finally!), so maybe that was a special offer they made us.

Hi All

Have anyone heard about IIPMR and CSCA/CSCS/CPP certifications? How good is it and will it be any value addition to my profile?

Any other information on these certifications also welcome.

Are there any certifications that add value to the resume of a fresher interested in mba in the field of Finance . Mostly related to Investment Banking if possible

Hello seniors/friends,

I have a 15 months work ex and planning to do an MBA and preferably want to come back to IT consulting/management by doing an MBA in systems or might get into general management. I won't be going into Marketing/Finance etc.
I am planning to go for the following certifications sequentially in the next few months, and probably finish it by December January.
1. ITIL
2. Six Sigma
3. CAPM
4. ITSM.

I need all your guidance with respect to the following points:
1. Is the sequence correct(Order of priority of the 4 certificates considering that i might not get a chance to complete all 4)
2. Will it add to my profile during MBA/ internships/ final placements(What most of my friends say that anyways since i am from IT and will be going back to IT only after MBA, it won't bother too much)
3. For Six Sigma, can anyone tell me from where to do this certification at the most cheapest rate.
4. any other certification that I can look forward to in IT to add to my profile?

I need your opinion seniors/friends urgently.
Please help :)

hi, asked by @[520788:LeoN88] i am answering this query based on my knowledge.

here are the answers :-
1. i believe there is no sequence required for these certifications. i may be wrong in this regard (and wish to be corrected if i am :)).
2. it would definitely add to your profile, but it does not guarantee anything. if you have experience in these areas then you don't need to go for them. however, you have only 15 months of total experience, getting these certifications will show that you are really enthusiastic about working in these fields.
3. no idea about it.
4. these are enough, but you can go for others if you like getting certified so much. :mg:
as a general rule, go for a certification which you intend to use in your career ahead.
e.g. if you have worked in service desk environments, or have an idea about it, then it is totally no use to go for ITIL, unless asked for in a job selection criteria.

puys i want to ask whether the institutes providing programs like financial modeling in excel or technical analysis, do they provide placements? I am an mba finance fresher looking for financial modeling programe.

Hey guys, If you are really serious about finance domain, go for a CFA or FRM, but these are a long term investment. For short to medium term go for FLIP or NCFM certifications. Though I sometimes wonder about the quality of NCFM certifications

does CFA L2 surely get a decent job nitish ?

@[582498:iwantgovtjob]: Boss surety to nahi bol sakta, but yes your job prospects definitely improve drastically.

OK bhai 90% chance to hai na . Starting me 30k mil jate hai ?

@[582498:iwantgovtjob]: More than 30k easily and definitely more than 90%. You have cleared CFA L1 right?

I am working in IT company for the past 1 year. After my MBA i want work as business Analyst..which certification course i should do ??

i am a fresher currently pursuing my pgdm, 1st yr.
can someone please tell me that are there similarities between the FLIP course and the cfa program ?? does both the program lead to same job aspect ??
also please tell me that will the FLIP National Challenge scheduled next month useful ??
