Hi guys, since CET is getting over today, this is the right time to start preparing for your GD/ PI. So, I am starting this thread as to discuss CET specific GD/PI
As you already know the GD accounts for 17 marks and PI has 17 marks as well, so its very important to take these 34 marks seriously as even a single mark can reduce your rank by as much as 15.
I am attaching some basic material for gd/pi
Is it necessary to give MHCET for Sydenham..Can't I apply through CMAT score only? Please reply...
My thoughts about CET GDPI:
I was a panelist in the past for CET GDPI when I was a faculty at MET. So these are my viewpoints from my experience as a panelist and from my experience of training lots of students for GDPI over the years:
CET GDPI is different from that of GDPI for any other institutes. In any other institutes the panelist who take the GDPI have inherent interest in the student as he is going to join the institute and most likely will be his student. In CET as GDPI is held at random centres it is most likely that the candidate may not end up in the college where his GDPI is held.
In an IIM or XL PI it is impossible to lead the panelist. In a CET PI, the panelist is usually not well prepared and can be easily be lead.
It is almost difficult to predict the questioning pattern in an IIM or xl interview. But in CET PI if preparation done properly, the questions could be predicted and it is easy to score a 17/17 in an interview. But a lot of preparation in the right direction is required to achieve the feat.
If you want to score high marks try to differentiate yourself in both the GDs and PIs. Differentiate yourself in every answer that you give and every point that you make in GD. Your preparation should be aimed at focusing on creating this differentiation. The differentiation will start with creating an answer for tell me something about yourself which is different. Panelist are bored of hearing the common answers again and again. So dont look at standard answers, just write your own answers and ensure that you get it checked.
More important than building content is to be able to communicate the content to the panelist. If you are not able to communicate then building the content is of no use. Again in communicating the content ensure that you are different from the group which should be again be a part of your preparations.
Each student is different and a common strategy will not work for everyone. It is important to know your areas of strengths in GDs and PIs and play as per your strength and not get swayed by the group and focus on your weakness. Dont just repeat what others are doing but focus on what you are good at and impress the panelist by your strong areas.
Key is prepare, prepare, prepare. Students who have scored 34/34 have taken a lot of pains and have prepared intensively to get to that score.

Sir, now my issue is.. I applied to GIM through my XAT score. Didn't apply through CMAT at that time. I got shortlisted in the GIM GD/PI on the basis of my XAT score and gave the interview. Does this mean that GIM won't consider my CMAT score? You mentioned the admissions happen in a centralized manner. So does this mean if I make it through the CMAT cutoffs of GIM, will they again consider me for GD/PIs?

Centralized admissions take place for the MMS course , For GIM, u need to get in touch with them

Ok. Thank you. Another query:
I have been told that only the OMS category students will be able to apply to the MBA institutes in Maharashtra, like JBIMS, KJ, Sydenham, etc. I am a Maharashtra domicile. Does that mean only my MH-CET score will be considered for admissions in these institutes?
@RavSir:
Sir I was quite terrified by today's paper. I was hardly able to solve 114 question and rest i just ticked option 2 for all..I guess i might get around 70 in 200 and for gdpi, I don't think i would be able to get more than 20 marks. So total would be around 90 of 240..
You are requested to please let me know some college for my such score..
Thank You

Yes, if you have given only CET, u will be applied through maharashtra quota only , but ur cmat/cat score will be used to apply in all india quota.
