Hello Puys... need some inputs.. I have just started going thru schweser notes 1 week back.. Thinking to register for L1 for dec 2012.. If any1 experienced.. Cud some1 pls opine if the entire syllabus can be completed in 2 months studyn at 8 hrs /day.. M working as well (from IT bckgrnd)
TIA..
Guys, Please advise me how to study for Economics+Ethics + Maths of L1. I am a qualified CA(1st attempt) and working in an IT giant. I have finished almost 3 scheweser books ; and am in derivatives section of book "Fixed Income Securities".
After this i am gonna start "Ethics, Maths" and then the "economics" book of Schweser.
Please advise me how to efficiently and effectively study for L1 esp the pending segments.
I dunno why, even after being in this stage of completion, i am not feeling that confident. Is it because of the cost involved?
You can answer me via PM.
Thanks.

@[353268:tamannawishes] : Yes, CFA requires a min of 300-450 hours of studying. You will be having 2 months. So, 60*8= 480 HOURS. Plan! Practice! Earn Perfection!

Hi, I am doing L1 @Fintree. Good institute and faculties also. Though I am having Engineering background, could digest the concepts easily. Methodology is excellent . I liked concept of 60min guide and mobile notes. Visit www.fintreeindia.com to know more.

Your plan is a bit risky( especially if you are from a non-fin background studying by yourself) since it might be a bit difficult putting in 8 hrs consistently over 2 months.
I would advise you to take it up next June

Sushant I would advise you to study a bit of ethics daily instead of going for it at 1 shot. This will definitely help relieve the monotony and you can also remember it better.
Math is not really a problem.Once you get the concepts it should be pretty easy but eco is pretty vast.I would advise you to finish early and have time for revision

There is a group in FB for CFA L1 Dec . Jus search and join if you are interested . I guess people are active in that group .
learn through all the concepts by september , take a schweser mock . Results in that mock will show you the level of prep . Based on that identify the areas which you need to concentrate more in the remaining two months 😃
Good luck with your prep !
