Hi seniors,
Today i tried to register for CFA level 1 with printed materials which costs 1185 USD that means 1185* 56 (current preice is 55.41) INR i.e 66300 and my card limit(and avbl balance) is 67 K but it didnt allowed me to register saying ki U dont have enuf balance........what could be the issue....i m very tensed as only few days are remains to register for it! Thanks in advance :)

Two possibilities
1) Have you made other purchases or is there a previous outstanding amount that you may not have cleared? You credit limit is the total of all purchases in a month - not one transaction.
2) And more important - The bank will not charge the dollar card rate. They will add commission to the rate and then charge. This commission varies from bank to ban and varies between 1-2 Re per USD. So even if they charge @ 57 => total charge is 67545 which is beyond your limit.

Options
1) Easiest and best - use some other card
2) Deposit money in your card account - this may take time and may or may not work depending on your bank.

for example ICICI Bank charges 3.5% = 1185*55.41*1.035 = INR 67959
the bank might not be exactly using 55.41, as there is no single rate in forex market, always conform these things with banks customer care.

and as leo said deposit money in your card, try to do it online transfer but confirm the procedure with bank.

@[390371:leolazer] I got the card yesterday only.....and i didnt knew about this 'commision' thing.........none of my frnds have cards with thaty much limit.....ialso had to do a FD for getting this limit......now it seems that i should stop thinking about this! Hi @[390371:leolazer] and @[583829:varunaron] , I have one more query suppose if i order the ebookn format for cfa l1 ,...will it be in a pdf format and can i get it printed? will it be machine specific or can be transferred later to any machine i like (for printing purpose)
